White Chocolate--- why did Clay dump you if you were "one of the great ones?" he made a big mistake.

"The Dolphin's Cry"by Live- This was my ex's and mine old song. Dammit. Had to waste a great song on him. *grrs*

"TKE Sweetheart Song"by The Lettermen- Teehee This is my great, super sexy, honey of a boyfriend song that he played for me when I was pinned *awws* Everytime I listen to it I get all girly

"Fallin" by Alecia Keyes- Same boyfriend and same me's song. One night we were coming back home from a date and I thought he was breaking up with me (the subject we were on...) well, I started crying (good ole' girl trick) and we found out it was a HUGE misunderstanding. When we were making up that song came over the radio, and he made it apparant he wanted that song for us *le sigh*

"She Shook Me All Night Long" by AC/DC- Oh yeah, me and my best buds song We'll start singing and dancing to this song no matter where it's playing, hehe

Love this thread!

"The Promise" by When In Rome - this is my chapter's song. Everytime it comes on the radio, I immediately grab the phone and start calling people and just let it play on their voicemail/answering machine to let them know I was thinking of them.

"Let's Get Married" by 112 (? I'm not sure?) - this is my song with my boyfriend. We met at a club and this was the first song that we danced to and ever since then, it's been our song.

"Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)" by Green Day - yet another ZTA song from when I was in school.

"Feels Like Home" by ? (I do know that it's on the Dawson's Creek Soundtrack) - this, yet again, is another Zeta song. We have a sister that sings it during Pref's during Rush and no one can hold back the tears.

I have a bunch more from high school but I can't remember who sings them or what the titles are. I think on is "Oh What A Night" - one of my good friends was a year older than me, so she drove me to school and we listened to that song everymorning for a year. I think we went through 3 tapes because we listened to it so much.

"Here's to the Night" by Eve6 (sp????)
I definitely hear that...I remember listening to that the night I broke up with my high school boyfriend and I was driving home from his house, and I just kept driving around town with that on repeat...and now in a way it's going to remind me of my sisters because I go alum next week.

"My Best Friend" -Tim McGraw: My fiance's and my song because it's so true about us... we were best friends before we started dating!

"Wonderful Tonight" -Eric Clapton: My fiance sang it to me once while we were dancing to it at one of my formals.

"Love Can Build a Bridge" -The Judds (or maybe it's just Wynonna?): My chapter's song... we always sang it to the PNM's on pref night and it was so touching that it got me! (I was undecided until that night)

My Turn

Don't laugh, I'm an 80s kid!

"Crazy for You" - Madonna: major high school crush. Not saying any more. <eg>

"This Could Be the Night" -Loverboy. Senior Prom song.

"The Song Remembers When" - Trisha Yearwood. Reminds me of another great love I *thought* I had for a few years, but felt better when I dumped his cheating ass. Really spells out the contrast between wonderful memories of good times and moving on w/ your life to bigger and better things.

"Just the Way You Are" -Billy Joel First dance with my husband at our wedding.

"Somewhere in the World - Wayne Watson Father/daughter dance at my wedding. He wrote the song as a prayer for the little girl who would some day grow up and be his son's wife. I'm getting misty right now at the foresight of that....

"Crystal Ball" -Styx. The ex-wife of the guy who wrote the song is a good friend of mine. She had some family-type stories that were connected to it. (No, I'm not spilling them.) For me, hearing this song reminds me of those tangible things that were behind the "showbiz" front that musicians put on. It's like walking out of a dream and finding aspects of it are real and you can touch them. Odd feeling.

Next?

"Hang" by Matchbox 20: because the ending lyrics-
"and we always say
it would be good to go away someday,
but if there's nothing there to make things change,
if it's the same for you i'll just hang;
if it's the same for you i'll always hang.
well we always say,
it would be good to go away...
but if things don't work out like we think,
and there's nothing there to ease this ache,
and if there's nothing there to make things change,
if it's the same for you i'll just hang..."

make me cry...

These bring back memories of awesome dance routines:
"I'll Stand By You" by The Pretenders
"Annie's Song" by John Denver
"Jessie" by Joshua Kadison
"Every Rose Has It's Thorn" by Poison
"November Rain" by Guns 'n' Roses
"Return to Innocence" by Enigma (for those of you who don't know it off the top of your head it's most widely known from that early 90s new age cd "Pure Moods" as the one with the random native american guy chanting at various points throughout)

"Brick" by Ben Folds Five reminds me of a friend from High School that always sang/played it on the piano after theater class and made all the girls swoon...he was awesome though

Songs the casts of musicals and shows I've been in cerimoniously sang before/after each performance:
"New York, New York" by Frank Sinatra
"Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen
"Baby Got Back" by Sir-Mix-Alot
"Theme from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" by Will Smith
"On Broadway" *showtune*

wow...my list is kind of long....i could go on about this forever....really i could hehehe

don't you forget about me-it was the song that my high school ex and i always listened to. when we broke up right before i left for college, we played it when we were in the car and just started crying.
forever young-i don't know why... it was always a prom theme when i was in high school. and the saturn commercial that plays it brought back memories.
freaks of the industry-sorority family song... i didn't pick it but it's just hella funny every time they play it at formals.
baby got back-sorority theme song.
just the two of us-lyrics were changed and it became our pledge class song.
time of my life-dirty dancing-senior prom theme.
bohemian rapsody-always a car ride classic
isn't it midnight?-fleetwood mac-childhood favorite
it's my life-bon jovi-my latest ex played this song everytime he was getting ready for a hockey game.

"Let's Get Married - the remix" - Jagged Edge - This is the roommate song! I had the best 3 roommates ever and anytime this song came on we'd get out in the living room dance our lil' tales off. Last summer at one of the roommates wedding this was the first dance song that was played and my roomie goes "I'm sorry but if you're not a roommate you can not dance to this song".....so like 150 people watched the 3 of us dance! It was great!!

"Oops.....I Did It Again" - Britney Spears - This is the song I listen too before I go out. It gives me the confidence that its okay to break hearts.

"Like I love you? " - Justin Timberlake - I can't think of the name of the song, but it was his first single "late at night I talk to you". My current roomie was in a really bad mood and crying - I played it really loud and lip synced too it. So now that's "our song" lol

BOY MUSIC

"Knights in White Satin" - Moody Blues - This is a ex-bf Phil song. But I have a feeling it will be adapted to next boy I dance with.
"I don't want to Miss a thing" - Aerosmith - OMG another Phil song. This is is me/phil/senior prom!!
"Angel" - Aerosmith - Another Phil song....I still to this day can not stop smiling when I hear this song.

Songs That I love that Boys have not tapped into yet:

"Drive" - THe Cars
"Best of My Love" - The Eagles
"Careless Whisper" - George Michaels
