At this point, I'll be happy with any of the teams winning the million bucks...except Nate and Jen.
I'm curious to see if TK and Rachel's separation from the pack will work for them or against them.

Oh, I'll never make you carry the team solo . . . except on roadblocks.

It was simply a very stupid move. They may have thought N&J were probably ahead of them since they left the detour first (though not by long, it appeared), but they ought to have known that one bad taxi driver or one good taxi driver can make up for that. They should have figured that after the speed bump, most teams were likely ahead of them. They also should have figured that since N&J were the only team they had seen, and since N&J were pretty much neck and neck with them, they should take the chance that N&J were behind them. They didn't, and they lost as a result.

My favorite racers ever are still Kris and Jon from several seasons back (maybe season 4 or 5?).
|
They were Season 6, and they tie with the Chip and Kim (winners, Season 5) as my favorites of all time. I was disappointed they weren't in the All-Stars season.

I can only hope. As annoying as Jen (especially) and Nate are, I simply can't stand Ron anymore. I would much rather see him gone.

My wish for who should go home goes back and forth throughout each show as to whether I dislike the Nate/Jen team or Ron more -- the thing that makes me even slightly tolerate Ron is that his daughter is so great and SHE deserves to do well. It just stinks that Ron "wins" when she does.

I see your point, and I do like, and feel sorry for, Christine. But Ron just completely lost me on the billboard task.
Meanwhile, I softened -- just a very, very little bit -- on jen shen she looked at Nate and said with a slight laugh, "We just don't do stress well, do we?"

I'm all confused.. did they ask what leaves for Osaka the earliest or what gets into Osaka the earliest?

Clearly the asked for the earliest flight, i.e., what leaves the earliest. That's a fundamental mistake no one should be making -- nittanyalum and I sure won't be.
I didn't worry too much about them, though, since it was obvious before the show started that this would be a non-elimination leg. As for the three-hour lag, I suspect an equalizer is in their future -- the previews for next week seem to confirm that suspicion.

I figured it would be a nonelimination leg whent hey showed them completing all the tasks and didn't just send them to the pit stop.

^^^ Yeah, that plus when the Goths weren't eliminatined, Phil said it was the first of two non-elimination legs. There are only four teams now, and there are always three teams in the finals, so the second non-elimination leg has to come when there are still four teams.
I hope TK and Rachel can pull it off next week.

I missed it AGAIN!!! Arrrggghhhhh!!!! Why, oh why, doesn't CBS stream this show on its site??
Ok, so I'm gathering from all your posts that TK & Rachel were last, but not eliminated. I remember the previews about them "separating" from the pack -- did they do that on purpose themselves or did they get lost along the way?
And MC, making a note about using very specific wording when getting plane tickets... *scribbling in team journal* ... got it. Good tip.

TK and Rachel went directly to a travel agency as soon as they opened their clue. They asked for the first flight to Osaka, Japan. They repeated their request several time. All the other teams looked for or asked for a flight that had the earliest arrival. TK and Rachel left first, BUT they had 2 stop overs before arriving in Osaka, while the other teams only had to deal with 1 stop over. That was the beginning of the end for them. They are so good and work together so well, that I am sure that they are going to pull off what seems impossible and stay in the top three. Jen and Nate had a good night until the end, but I don't think they can hold back their bickering with each other when the going really gets tough.

^^^Thank you so much for the recap, Daffy!!! Now I understand how they got "separated". They are LUCKY it was a nonelimination round, but I'm glad. The last time, a team I didn't care so much for were spared, I'm glad a team I like was spared this time. One more chance to keep Jen and Nate out of the final 3!!!!

I am thrilled with the final 3. I was more than happy to see tonight's couple leave.
