My roommate is friends with Lanny...she told me before tonight that Lanny's mom is really protective of him. I never expected that though!!! I'd probably take off too!! He is soooooo beautiful though.

I thought that too... I knew he'd be cut, he had gorgeous blue eyes!
Yeah I thought Bob and Matthew looked alike too... I think Ian's the cutest.

Ditto, AXO_MOM! Geez...that woman would drive me crazy. I loved how she was preaching about the man being the head of the household, etc. and her poor husband barely said 2 words!

Thank goodness she got rid of Lanny. Could you just picture her living on a ranch and going out to watch pretend horse sex while being reminded that it is her responsibility to go to church and be submissive to her husband? I don't get why they were all just assuming that Meredith would move there -- why wouldn't Lanny move to LA or wherever Meredith will want to live when this is all over?
Growing up in that environment, it's likely that Lanny has very traditional ideas of how men and women should behave in relationships, and Meredith probably does not share those views, at least not to that extent. As much as she seemed smitten with Lanny, it's good that she realized just how incompatible their lifestyles and backgrounds are. It would have never worked.
I like all of the remaining guys, but Ian is still my favorite -- although I have no idea who will get the final rose.

Exactly! She told him, though, that she didn't have enough time to get to know him, but we all know why she let him go -- I don't blame her either!
And another thing, I think the thought of who to eliminate was very difficult for her, but not because she wanted all four guys to stay, but because three of the guys needed to go NOW! (Yes, I'm rooting for Matthew! )

It's a good thing I didn't have anything in my mouth when I read this, or else it would've been all over the computer screen and my desk and homework!
I felt so bad for Meredith on that home date. I don't think I could've sat there as long as she had to have with the nice smile on my face, and I'm normally a very laid-back type of gal!
I'm hoping she picks Matthew, because she just seems so at ease and comfortable with him....even in the *wilds* of Texas!

OMG- Lanny's Mom came on too strong and too protective. I knew from that moment that she was going to cut Lanny. It was a good thing she saw how his mom is now and not until later had she kept him!
I think she is going to let go of Chad next episode! Reasons are because I think it matters to her whether or not he is stable and him being unemployed when he told her he did have a job is a big uh oh. Although he has a good reason for living with his mom, the fact is he is living with his mom.
Ian and Matthew will be the last two.
Ian's brother was a bit freaky and rubbed me the wrong way. I dont know, but I think she felt the same way.
Matthew SHOULD win, and I think he will. Didn't everyone hear her say that Matthew is worried and he wants to be the last one, Meredith said she wanted to tell him not to worry but she couldnt!
Maybe she has already made her decision.

I don't really care for Ian. I mean he's cute & all but I kinda didn't like the fact that he didn't want her to meet his family. It made me think that he was hiding something shady. I don't really think he's that into her either...I dunno though.

I think that when Meredith meets Lanny's family in Texas, she will cut Lanny next, then Ian.
I believe that the final 2 standing will be Chad and Matthew and I think she will pick Matthew.

I <3 Lanny because he's a good ole country boy, but I knew as soon as I saw his mom he was out. Wow, can we say controlling?!?! That was really bad, and the worst part is he didn't seem too concerned about her behavior! I would have killed my mom for that! But then, I was working and only saw parts of it, so I don't know what he said about her behavior.

Honestly, I am just going on what I know of Human Relationships and Psychology! I do think that Matthew will be the last guy standing. I even think that he will propose too.
I should have placed a bet with a bookmaker!!
I do find Ian attractive, but it sounds like it would be a struggle to be in a relationship with him. It looks to me like he is not comfortable talking about "issues" and it sounds like his family doesn't either....it's more like, "let's ignore the problem and hope it goes away!" Yeah, that's really healthy!!!

OK This show is starting to get on my nerves.
1. I am not really that crazy about Meredith...she isn't as cool, as fun, or as pretty as the past bachelorettes.
2. OF COURSE these people think they are in love. They are on the most romantic dates in the world. They are walking hand in hand on the beach and staying in fantasy suites.
3. If I hear the word "connection" or the word "journey" one more time I am going to puke. Oh yeah, I am also tired of hearing the word "expectation"
3. They edit the videos of the dates to try & confuse you as to who they're going to pick...and then it's only going to end up pissing the other person off. Especialy if they propose. OK say you are Matthew and you win and you propose...then you watch the show and your new fiance says "I can see myself spending the rest of my life with Ian" the night before you proposed. Hell no I wouldn't be engaged the next day.

It's called February sweeps. Ratings! It's up against "Survivor" on CBS and "Friends" & "Will & Grace" on NBC.
ETA: Ooops...I mixed up my networks!
