OMG. I can definitely relate to this topic. I am a Neo, and I get the same thing every day. I get notes passed to me in class. Even guys are jocking, because they think I can get them on the Omega line. WTF??? I am a Delta, not a Que, Boo! Anyway, this is an experience that happened to me roughly an hour ago in class.
These two girls work together, have the same major, and take all the same classes together. I had a Delta cup in class, and she asked me about Delta. The teacher is up teaching, and I'm trying not to be rude, so I tell her that I will talk to her after class. She sits beside me, and her friend sits behind me. Her friend taps me on the back of my neck (???) and ask me, "Will you talk to me, too?" I am CTFU. I say yes and turn back around. THEN I get a note that says that they have a few more friends that reads, " I got some more homegirls that Imma need you to put on." WTF???
I just put the note in my notebook, so the sorors can laugh later. I leave the class to get some fresh air and water and who should follow me, but Thing One and Thing Two. They are really starting to freak me out, because I care a lot about my chapter and I don't want to see us kicked off the yard. But it's girls like this who present themselves as so clingy and needy for all things Delta that wind up getting severely hazed. I talk to them and urge them to keep their desires to themselves until the proper time. I briefly explain some of the minimum requirements and tell them to work first at being good students and citizens and hopefully the rest will come for them later. I also run through the unofficial protocol of those who are interested in Delta. After all this I tell them that I need to get back in class.
I'm sitting in class when they walk in, and one of them whispers (loudly) to a guy who sits near us, "She gon' hook us up. She gon' put us on in the Spring."
WTF?????????
I give up.

Some people may just read it the wrong way.

I know It's along the lines of the ridiculous AKA question, "also known as what?" It's just silly to me!

 Wow.
1. How are they gonna ask for the "hook-up?"
2. How do they think that they are presenting themselves by INTERRUPTING DURING CLASS?
3. Let's just say, for examples sake, that they were getting "put on," how are they gonna get the posse of "homegirls" put on too?
4. What ever made them think that it would EVER be that easy?
5. Do they think that STALKING is an appealing quality in an interest?
6. You will never have peace in class again now that they "know" you. You are gonna have to put your foot down for them because they seem crazy. Let them know that they can't go around touching people's necks unless they are looking to get chopped in theirs. You don't touch people's neck!

well
Boom Quack... now thats funny ..
Now back to the letter at. hand.. One day we were at flagpole..Its when the sorors get together once a week, sing the sweetheart song, pray and etc. and 2 girls walk up while we were praying..So we all looking like ok. Are they visiting sorors when we finished praying they were like..Hi we just wanted to sit here and watch so that we can get a feel of what its go be like next year for us...I was like ..maybe because i grew up in a greek family, i knew what to do and what not to do..I mean our chapter is huge and i would have been scared to death ..(correction..I was Scared As Hell Of My Big Sistas...) to just walk up and say something crazy to any of them. I don't know its like that respect is gone.
I mean i know how it feels to be a intrestee(sp?) I didn't feel like i was acting stuck up or anything like that its just that some things don't make no sense!!!
I love my sorority more than I can ever explain and for people to just disrespect it or me makes me mad azz hell!!! I'm sure the same can be said about AKA's, and etc!! I'm sure that they all go through the same thing

Sorry to crash your board, but I think these are all hilarious! My mom is a very involved Delta alumna in our area. You'd be suprised how many girls come up to me and think for some reason that I can put them on.
One shining example:
I sing in the choir @ our church. We had to sing at a funeral. I was pretty sad b/c I'd known the deceased woman. I went down to pay my respects to her. Afterward, I went to sit down. I was a little misty-eyed. A young lady walked up to me. I thought she wanted to hug me or offer her sympathies.
She said (with a smile): "Hey, I know this is a pretty sad occasion, JocelynC, but DST @ XY Univ. is having a line this spring. I know b/c the elephant gives birth every 2 years!!! I KNOW I'm gonna make it so could you find your momma on the way out to write me a nice recommendation letter? Thanks! It's TOO bad you're not a Delta because I KNOW you'd write me one!!!"
I completely ignored her. I couldn't believe it. I watched her walk back to her seat, HIGH FIVE her friend and say "She's gon' do it Teeka!" and throw up the DST pyramid to each other.
That irritated me. And no, I never told my momma to write that letter.

U have got to be kidding! That is above and beyond disrespectful. I would have had to take her outside and whipped her azz, and then told her that ur mom would never write a letter for a inconsiderate little bit*h like herself. At a funeral, thats doing 3 much. All I would have needed afterward was for God to forgive me for jackin up that hoe's face. It's to bad that no D's were there and saw them throw up their Pyramid, cause they might have just got jumped.

NO Respect
Had to Share This Story...
I saw two young ladies at the movie theatre (crowding the lobby area with their friends), I believe the girls were in high school. Anyway they were throwing up the Delta pyramid and doing the Delta call right in the lobby area. I mean they were loud, joking about it and then I heard this one girl say "yeah we gon pledge Delta when we get to college so we can get those fine Kappas."
Now I know that i am not Delta but many of my close friends are and I told one of my girls who just crossed and she told me that I should have handled that. Now I do believe the girls were very disrespectful however, I dont think that was my place to say or do anything to the young girls, especially because I am not a Delta. Am i right by this?

Well you don't EVER have to beat someone down but you may want to correct someone of ANY sorority that thinks it's cool to be out in public laying claim to something that isn't theirs. Everyone isn't right and they head and may layeth the smack down squarely on your head but a simple if that's REALLY what you are considering you may wanna back up and practice a little discretion should suffice.

Your so crazy! No I'm just sayin that you don't come up to anyone at a funeral and ask anything like, she needed 2 be slapped on JP. That could have been someone real important to her and oh girl was so out of line. I'm not even Greek and I was offended so I know she was. But no problem on the sticking up thing, anytime. That was my 2 cents.
