I prefer the Fred Astaire version of "The Way You Look Tonight".

What about "What a Wonderful World" (Louis Armstrong), "When I Fall in Love" (Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole), or "Fools Rush In" (Elvis Presley)?

"I'll Catch You"- The Get Up Kids

can you sleep as the sound hits your ears one at a time?
an unspokenbalance here,
unabridged for so many years
that i should stare at receivers to receive her isn't fair
don't worry i'll catch you
don't ever worry
your arms in mine, anytime
i wouldn't trade anything
you're still my everything
to my surprise, before my eyes, you arrive
don't worry I'll catch you
don't ever worry
i'm still breaking old habits, habits when you pulled the wool over me
i can see everything, everything remembering "jinx removing"
don't worry i'll catch you [x2]
don't ever worry
no need for reminding... you're still all that matters to me

Well because of the situation of our wedding, we may have to postpone our first dance since I don't know if we'll be able to where we are thinking of having the reception (super nice restaurant, in Ireland.) but if it was up to me, "La Vie en Rose" by Louis Armstrong...I love the Edith Piaf version, but the LA version is great too.

That was mine, for my second wedding. It's a beautiful song.

First wedding it was "Always" by Atlantic Starr .. "Come with me my sweet, let's go make a family, and they will bring us joy, for alwayyyyyyyys". Also a great song.

I'm hoping my wedding will be really small and really informal. As in, few enough people to fit on my parents' back deck. If there's a first dance -- and there may not be, but hey, I can always just play music while people are chit chatting -- I think it'd be great to play "Let's Call The Whole Thing Off" (an Armstrong/Fitzgerald duet.) But then, to make that work I'd need a guy who didn't take himself too seriously.

Verse
Things have come to a pretty pass
Our romance is growing flat,
For you like this and the other
While I go for this and that,
Goodness knows what the end will be
Oh I don't know where I'm at
It looks as if we two will never be one
Something must be done:

Chorus - 1
You say either and I say either, You say neither and I say neither
Either, either Neither, neither, Let's call the whole thing off.

You like potato and I like potahto, You like tomato and I like tomahto
Potato, potahto, Tomato, tomahto, Let's call the whole thing off

But oh, if we call the whole thing off Then we must part
And oh, if we ever part, then that might break my heart

So if you like pyjamas and I like pyjahmas, I'll wear pyjamas and give up pyajahmas
For we know we need each other so we , Better call the whole off off
Let's call the whole thing off.

Chorus - 2
You say laughter and I say larfter, You say after and I say arfter
Laughter, larfter after arfter, Let's call the whole thing off,

You like vanilla and I like vanella, You saspiralla, and I saspirella
Vanilla vanella chocolate strawberry, Let's call the whole thing off

But oh if we call the whole thing of then we must part
And oh, if we ever part, then that might break my heart

So if you go for oysters and I go for ersters, I'll order oysters and cancel the ersters
For we know we need each other so we, Better call the calling off off,
Let's call the whole thing off.

Chorus - 3
I say father, and you say pater, I saw mother and you say mater
Pater, mater Uncle, auntie, let's call the whole thing off.

I like bananas and you like banahnahs, I say Havana and I get Havahnah
Bananas, banahnahs Havana, Havahnah, Go your way, I'll go mine

So if I go for scallops and you go for lobsters, So all right no contest we'll order lobseter
For we know we need each other so we, Better call the calling off off,
Let's call the whole thing off.

but then I tried to talk my college roommate into playing "Let's Get It On" as her first dance. So.

my parents first song was "always and forever" - by heatwave -- everytime my ma hears that song, shes like OHHHH ITS MY WEDDING SONG..... lol, its cute

and of course - the last song played at ANY wedding that we go to in NY, friends or family, HAS to be "new york, new york" -- dont ask why - but even now, us living in vegas, one of our family friends from NY moved here, got married and had her wedding here in vegas - and the last song played was NY NY..... its a nice remembrance of home

as for my wedding song ... At Last is a beautiful song.. and ever since i was little - my mom and i would sing "groovy kind of love" together .. so she wants us to dance to that .... here i am planning my wedding songs ... and dont you need like ... a significant other before you can marry ?!

My sister got married a couple of weeks ago and used the same song. Your cousin didn't get married in FL did they?

We could do it in the library on top of books, but you can't be too loud.

That's romantic, right?

I kind of prefer the "ROUGH SEX, MAKE IT HURT" portion when I'm going for romance
