I do root beer and vanilla ice cream with my butter shots. I have butter beers every summer, it's my warm weather dessert!

I like them best in winter, so I can heat them up (though I admit, it tastes better cold). A cup of cream soda with a couple teaspoons of sugar and a dash of cinnamon--gives it a kick and makes it foam more. It was a hit at the Halloween Banquest my HP Club threw back in high school. I let my teacher (who went by "Sirius") taste it and he immediately said, "Hey, this is butterbeer!!"

Okay, I haven't read this thread in ages, and there are too many posts to read right now and I haven't been to jkrowling.com in ages either. I decided to go back and get all the easter eggs again (I never went to her site on the computer I have now), but I think things hav changed. I can't find the potion anymore, and didn't the watch used to be a portkey or something? Help, i'm trying to find them all. Can any give me some clues?

HARRY POTTER BOOK MADE IN "TOTAL DARKNESS"

The seventh and final book in the Harry Potter series is apparently being printed in "total darkness" in a bid to avoid leaks about the novel's plot.

According to reports security is so tight for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows that German workers at the GGP print factory in the small town of Poessneck are being forced to work in pitch black conditions so that they cannot read any of the books.

The Cold War-style security measures follow high-profile leaks of information in the run-up to the publication of the previous three books.

Other failsafe schemes in place see workers' bags and cars searched as they arrive and leave, while GGP employees have already been told they will be sacked if they are found to have smuggled copies out or placed bets on the novel's ending.

Harry Potter author JK Rowling has already revealed that one, possible two or three, major characters will die in the final literary instalment of her best-selling series.

The book comes out on July 21st, a week after the fifth movie adaptation – The Order of the Phoenix – goes on general release in the UK.

Um, at some point, they're going to have to check the press sheets to make sure it's printing properly.

This has occupational hazard / workers' compensation claims written all over it.

what's your source on this? 1. not cool to cut and paste an entire article with no citation 2. I'd love to know who wrote this. This cannot be true at all.

I was guessing it came from The Onion, but it appears from Goggling that it came from InTheNews.co.uk.

Sorry, sorry. I don't know, I get daily emails from Yahoo News and this was in one of them. I'll try to track it down for you. ETA: Okay, that particular one came from contactmusic.com (no author), but it was also reported in several papers, including The Times of India: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/C...ow/2080856.cms

On another note, I've been reading "What will happen in book 7" published by Mugglenet and it said that Rowling did a book reading at Barnes and Noble back in 1999 and when a kid asked her if Harry, Ron, and Hermione would all make it through the series alive, she said "yes." This was years ago, she could've changed her mind by now, but I hope she hasn't!

ETA: The new movie will open on July 11th, 2 days early! http://www.latimes.com/entertainment...tory?track=rss

My mom and I talked about this last weekend. She wonders if there is a specific reason (other than to give us HP fanatics something to get through to the Book 7 release) for the movie coming out a few days before the book release. Something like, a tie in betwen the book and movie. Any other speculations?

Marketing. Creating more hype with the movie in turn creates more hype for the book. Bigger sales both places-- people are curious as to why they moved it up, then will be even more excited to buy the book.

Genius.
