Okay guys..I'm taking bets on how long it'll take for a Sigma Nu National Staff member to show up at his chapter. Any wagers? I'll give good odds

They just finished reviewing Sigma Nu fraternities about Halloween time, so it will probably be around next semester. haha, but come on, why would you really ask that question?

In case it didn't come through, it was a joke playing off the fact that a Sigma Nu who identified himself as being from TX state basically admitted to hazing. If you DID get that and you're asking why would anyone think that your Nationals would go there, then I don't think anything I say can help you now.

I'm not going to say the organization or the school(not mine), but I know a pledge at a fraternity.
In recent history.. they made the pledge class pick ten guys of their class to be locked up in a room with a full size keg. They locked him (and nine others)in the room for one hour and told them that they had to "kill the keg" in ONE HOUR or something would happen (he wouldn't tell me what). They tried and in the process most of the guys regurgitated 6-8x's just from the sheer amount of it (he did 4x's - bigger guy). They nearly finished...but failed.
When the brothers came in they said," You can't kill a keg in one hour - even if you cut the top it will for more than an hour."
The other stuff hasn't been that bad. The worst has been that they made him go to one brother's house and paint the family room (20X20') and it only took 2.5 hours.
I, on the other hand, have had no hazing which is why I ask myself why he lets the hazing happen.

I won't name the sorority, but this took place 4 years before I pledged Kappa. XYZ sorority gave a pledge XYZ earings. They were staples from a stapler in her ears. True? Yes, it did happen. I saw her one homecoming and the marks were still there.

My sorority (and the university that I go to) has a very strict zero-tolerance hazing policy. Therefore I didn't experience anything =)

Oh you know, lot of unmerciful beatings, overly strenuous activities, mental breakdowns, sleepless nights, eating of unimaginable filth, verbal abuse, incessant testing on fraternal knowledge, uncontrollable drinking of mass quantities of grain alcohol..........you know pretty standard stuff.

Yeah, just like my outfit. Now, all that applies pretty much to the Actives, but what do you do to the pledges? Our program generally specializes in what would be called "sweating the pledges" in peace time and "atrocities prohibited by the Geneva Accords" during war time. Some of them actually survive all the way to initiation, well, a few anyway.
