Exactly. When I expressed initial interest in AGD, I noticed right away that their table at the Campus Center was decked out in red, buff, and green. I-and-I RASTAFAR-I, we jam to the reggaem MON! to most college kids.

I sure as hell didn't join for the squirrel mascot. We don't even have squirrels in Hawaii!

I wasn't making any point about AI but if you can't read and interpret and want to make a retarded statement, go ahead.

What if you look at all their websites online and you get some kind of image in your head that XYZ is full of bubble, fun loving girls? Another person in the same situation as you could do the same thing and come out thinking they are all a bunch of airheads. It's all subjective.
Did you want to address any of the points I made or just pretend they don't exist?

And if you have no Greek knowledge why do you want to join a sorority? That doesn't make sense. And I suppose you could always ask on Greekchat, like the OP did, but then a pack of girls would chew your head off.

Ok more AOPi stuff. You can't really say Cal Poly SLO is SoCal, but AOPi at that school is very pretty. You'd be proud.
I've met girls from SLO at various functions. Very nice ladies. And SLO isn't exactly NorCal either, kind of odd. Lovely day today. Nice not to have any rain. =) ETA: I'm proud of AOII in general, and especially since we're colonizing a new SoCal chapter in the fall. Yippee! I'm thinking about helping out with that.

You know, it's stopped being remotely amazing to me that just about any thread at any time can go from 0 to ridiculous in about no time at all. Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of GC lives.

And if so, please do tell

Because some of us were pledges at said sorority and transferred to another university to go after an athletic dream, but the second university didn't have the sorority we had pledged to.

Yes. The Cal Poly SLO AOPis...are uhhhh....ummmm how do we say. Easy on the eyes. VERY pretty girls.

I have never met any other AOPi, except one. She was a southern belle and I love her to death. And if you are a Pike, I'm sure you know who I'm talkin about.

Yeah, at any given time. If I enter a thread, it can turn into chaos.

I seem to be the only one contributing to sorority reputations.

Where is AOPi colonizing at? I will be brutually honest. Please tell them to stay away from Cal Poly Pomona.

Chapman would be a awesome school. I like Chapman. Chapman is good. LMU? Pepperdine? Good schools to expand to. And make sure those AOPi girls follow the same mold as the SLO AOPis.

University of La Verne. It was open for expansion and we accepted the invitation of the University Panhellenic. Actually, they don't have a mold...they would follow international's policies. =)

Yes.

That's why I didn't read this thread.

Oooops. Busted!

Well, after reading all of the others like it, I just couldn't help myself.

Your point was you choose to join a group for various reasons, correct? Of course. You can choose to join a group for any reason in the world, be it philanthropy, to local image to colours to the fact your a legacy. My point is that I don't think you can decide based on "national image" because I don't think that exists.
And I told you that colors, mascots, and whatnot are not major factors. Some may consider a sorority for something else.

I also told you that several fraternities have reputations.

I also told you that these are general and not specific to every chapter and brother/sister out there.

c) Yeah, that's my point too. It's kind of silly to ask people's opinions on a group as a whole b/c they're so subjective.
Art is subjective too. Yet people discuss it constantly.
