Wow, touchy people....
I think Danny will return to Austin. I think Melinda is a WILD CHILD!!! What was it, one day in the house and she had kissed a girl and a guy? And a bf of 3 years? I bet he feels like a giant tool seeing this on TV, especially if she didn't warn him about it. Good entertainment, though I am tired of seeing her prance around in her "unmentionables"

Wow, intelligent.
Apparently this is what people get now for trying to keep a thread on track. I am finished participating in anything in this thread that is not relevant to the subject.
And way to be grown up about it.

Was this thread about RW Austin in general or specifically about Johanna and Gamma Phi Beta?
Serious question.

It started about Johanna and GPhiB, but given the title of the thread, I think as long as it stays on RW Austin, I think it's ok.

Since you're keeping us on topic:
It's in Greek Life and it's still about Johanna and Gamma Phi Beta.

Ok, FINE, then keep it about that. Geez. I actually think it may be just about time to get rid of the whole thread. It's getting out of hand.

I'm a little curious about the legalities too. Would the agreement that Johanna signed with GFB be considered "gratuitious" if she didn't receive anything in return? Can GLOs control who wears their letters? Sweatshirts and T's with letters sometimes show up at thrift shops. Also, the part about the GLOs requiring members to return anything with letters sounds pretty dubious. (Realistically, it seems strange that someone who left a GLO would *want* to keep wearing the letters, but I never saw it as a legal issue.)

Do any of the mods know if there is an existing thread on this topic? I also think it's an intriguing/controversial issue, but I think people want to discuss the Real World Austin or Johanna. If there isn't, let's start a new thread.

I think there might be a thread in the Entertainment forum about the show as a whole.

Check News & Politics, perhaps-- good idea to move it to a new thread!
ETA: for a discussion about 1st Amendment, that is! I agree, move Real World Threads to Entertainment!

The First Ammendment is the same protection that allows alumni to come on these boards and post nasty rumors about anonymouse people from their own schools or organizations.

The First Amendment, also known as the Establishment Clause, is only applicable to government interference in freedom of speech, expression, and religion. In fact the whole Bill of Rights is about what government can or cannot do to individual citizens.
