Been there

I have been there. Just last week I was cut from 4 out of 6 sororities on the first cut. I didn't cry or anything, but I was surprised at the time. Luckily, my favorite was still on the list along with one that I admired a lot. Hopefully there will be someone on your list that will make all the difference for you.

Well guys, I dropped out of rush. Apple was the only one that invited me back today and I just really haven't felt all that comfortable in their house. It's just been kind of awkward there and I didn't feel like I could find my home there. I am not going to rush next spring just because I feel like rushing three times would be excessive, though I did put my name on a COR list. I don't know if anything will come of that, but I will certainly post it if I do attend any COR events.

On a more positive note, I've realized that I really don't need a sorority to define myself or make me happy. True, I'm sure I could have made a lot of new friends and I would have had a lot of fun service activities, but I hope that I will be able to find that through other venues on my campus.

Thank you all so much for your support through this.

edited to make it purple

I am so sorry things didn't turn out the way you wanted them to.
My heart is going out to you right now.

Good luck in all that you do and maybe COR will present a new opportunity.

Copacabana, you have such a lovely attitude - I'm glad that you signed up for COR! NO ONE knows which house will take how many women, and you never knows what will happen.

Good luck in finding your niche at school!

I just responded to your PM before I read this.

Sorry to hear about recruitment. But I'm sure you'll find your campus activity niche somewhere. Don't forget... there are sports, clubs and such to join too!

Keep your chin up and good luck with COB if you chose to take that path. Keep us posted.

Hey! I figured the time was right for an update...

So I was getting pretty disappointed since I haven't gotten any calls for COR, and I know that some of the chapters I wanted aren't doing COR. BUT just a few minutes ago when I was walking back to my dorm from getting dinner, I ran into this girl from my rush group that I'd made friends with but hadn't seen since rush. Turns out she joined banana and loves it, and they're having a COR event tomorrow night! She invited me to come and I'm getting excited-- I've always liked banana because the girls seem so genuine and smart. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much, but it's really exciting so it's hard not to!

Soo...I just got back from the COR party with BANANA and I feel like it went pretty well. A lot of the girls in the house remembered me and I had fun, but I was kind of burned out (I hope I didn't seem too antisocial! I was just so tired). I got a house tour and everything which was awesome...and now the waiting begins! *holds breath*
