I can't STAND Thermasilk. It makes my hair dull and greasy.

I like Brilliant Brunette styling products too (in addition to the shampoo/conditioner). I like the straightening stuff.

I agree with you on the Thermasilk, I tried it college once and it made my hair feel really heavy and icky. I already have thick hair, I don't need any help with weight.

I'm a big fan of the Avon Anew facial cleansing line, but it also helps that I can get the products for free since my mom sells it.

I'm not a fan of the Clinique 3 step system. The clarifying lotion is decent. But the soap is fairly useless, doesn't feel or look like it's getting your face clean. And the DDML (dramatically different moisturizing lotion) is okay in the winter sometimes, but they push this stuff like it's good for all skin types year round, and it's NOT. Lol, I actually use mine on my bikini line to keep from getting bumps- since it's fragrance free it doesn't irritte.

I hate Redken's Clear Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner. The smell makes me sick to my stomach and the Conditioner does nothing to detangle my hair.

My new love is Enjoy Shampoo and Conditioner. It is sulfate free and perfect.

What IS a good mascara?

I've been using a Clinique one for years and for some reason now I can't wear it anymore. When I do, my eyes get all irritated and I end up rubbing my eyes to oblivion and end up looking like a raccoon. It's sad because it used to work so well.

I also like Brilliant Brunette products. Their finishing cream is wonderful.

You know I feel like I've tried ever freaking mascara on the market. I've tried all the Lancome formulas, MAC, Maybelline, etc. The two best I've used are the Covergirl Professional (in the royal blue tube) and YSL False Lashes (I think that's what it was called). However, YSL is kinda pricey and I've been using the Covergirl for awhile now and I love it. I've always hated how mascara will end up all over your face if you don't buy waterproof, but if you buy waterproof it's essentially on your lashes forever (or until you pull your lashes out trying to get the crap off). This macara stays put unless you're in the pool or crying like a baby, but comes off very easily...I love it. I started using it because a friend of mine was also in the search for the perfect mascara and she loved it too.

This JUST started happening to me with my Clinique mascara, too, and it's been awful. I've been a loyal fan of this mascara forever and all of a sudden it's been iritating my eyes and flaking off.

LOL... this is so true. I actually used to work at Macys and I had one of the Clinique counter girls tell me that the DDML had oil in it, so it's mostly for REALLY dry skin... but then it just clogs your pores anyway.

There was one Clinique moisterizer that I got in a sample bag that isn't too bad. I use it when I'm out of one of my others. It's water based. But it's also pretty thick. Can't remember the name.

I use Origin products... I like it if I have the money. But their Micro-Dermabrasion product they just came out with... totally irritated the crap out of my skin.

I use Trish McEvoy's mascara and I absolutely love it. One of the girls who works at the store where I get my makeup recommended it and it works so much better than any other mascara I've tried.

If I could take a beauty product as a lover, it would be the Clinique lotion.

I know this is off topic, but can anyone recommend a shine-reducing powder for someone with extremely dry skin? All the formulas I've seen are for oily skin and they make my dry skin cry.

I'm learning a lot about MAC. I use the moisturizer, concealer, foundation, studio fix (yes, i love coverage), lip glass, eye shadow and eye brows (with a MAC brush) and the green gel facial cleanser. I have MAC for every occasion and sometimes buy in bundles, because I never know when I'm going to go broke.

Yeah, I'm dumb!

But, I have never had any problems as far as my face is concerned. If anything, I've had less break outs, but my face still gets super oily.

Dove shampoo/condition sucks! For some reason it feels like it just touches my hair and does nothing to clean it. This past weekend I also highlighted my hair and this lady from Canada said her stylist always washes her hair with a little bit of baking soda in the shampoo. It is suppose to really clean the hair thoroughly.

Has anyone else tried baking soda?

Baking soda is a natural cleanser/deodorizer. It's also a component of the No Shampoo method.

A few gals I know have gone No 'Poo and love it.
