What this thread is referencing is a factual error regarding Canadians sending troops to Vietnam, correct?
This thread isn't referencing an opinion on Canadian relations with America through the years.
Yes her fact on Canada was wrong. Will it ruin her career? No. Why should it? We can often all be wrong. Newspapers ALWAYS run correction notices in future papers because of that. But this was an interview and I don't know what protocol is regarding that. If it was the case that she lied always and is wrong on everything, then she wouldn't be writing for certain publications she writes on now.

I doubt it'll ruin her career either. Heck if I was her boss, I wouldn't fire her. I mean the gaffe was big but it wasn't THAT BIG. My beef was with the people who couldn't see that she was wrong.
I think you'll agree that it was one of two things either she's guilty because she didn't know and went ahead anyway
or
She is guilty because she KNEW it was wrong and went ahead anyway.
Oh yeah Intelligent people can be stupid. Intelligent people just aren't dumb.

For whatever it's worth, I think it would be just the opposite wouldn't it? By definition, isn't intelligent opposite stupidity. In my mind, you can be highly intelligent, but dumb in the way you act.
The other thing to realize about all of these "pundits" (again, from both sides of the aisle) is that they're not writing this stuff, so it's not subject to self or outside editing. They're spouting it off live on TV, and some are going to mis-speak. My only real problem with the clip I saw is that she kept trying to say that she was right. At some point, it's time to put the ego aside and say, "Really?" Ooops. Sorry, I was wrong."

That is a good point. Not dumb, maybe egotistical?

I guess I can see where you're going. But I just want to clarify (not dispute your point) my point about the stupid thing.
If I have sex unprotected that is STUPID. If I sell drugs (knowing that it's illegal) then that is stupid. But it doesn't mean that I'm not intelligent. I guess it's how you view the word stupid and dumb.

I think she didn't know when she spoke. But again, given that newspapers consistently post corrections, I don't think it's that uncommon.
I think she is very smart and great at political commentary. I think she can sell herself well. And I think she made a mistake just like everyone does. But at the end of the day, that's just what I think.

If you can't post in English, don't be surprised when your pontifications about other people's intelligence are thown back in your face.
You might want to concentrate on those cookies. Eating might be the one thing that you can do right.
Enjoy!

WOW and it only took you a FULL 24 hours to come up with that. AMAZING!
still can't dispute what I said huh?. Still can't prove your point huh? Nothing new at all my friend. You're just following me just to argue with me. That's awfully kind of ya mister but I'm sure you're frat brothers wouldn't like it if you followed dudes around for no reason.
Jeff Gannon send help!
now can we get back to the thread?

I wouldn't go that far; she's a very intelligent person who made a mistake. Given that she is so opinionated, I think people are quick to point out those mistakes. That's what happens when you're a columnist, especially a well-known one.
She made a mistake, was wrong about it, and that's that. I don't think it's a fatal error by any stretch of the imagination.
I also don't know if I would characterize her political views as "extreme." She's not advocating martial law or anything like that. I guess that's just my opinion though.

I'm disputing that Ann Coulter is stupid, as you claim, and pointing out that you clearly are. You write English, and have the critical reasoning of a nine year old child. I keep pointing this out because the irony of you making a judgement about anyone's intelligence is absolutely hysterical.
Please keep posting because everytime that you post, I laugh at you. Every single time.
Also, while you're at it, you only made a biggoted statement about homosexuals. Surely with your level of critical thinking, there are other groups that you want to disparage.
Lets see you defend your homophobia, preferably in English, if possible.

Not homophobic, I like gay people, but since you ask. Jeff Gannon has a gay website. If that doesn't make him gay. I call it telling the truth. If you like guys you're gay, SIMPLE. If you like women (and you're a guy) then you're not gay. If you like both you're bi.
At least challenge me.
But this isn't about gays huh? It's about Ann isn't it?
What Ann did was STUPID or DUMB (you chose the words). I find it funny how everybody is throwing her accomplishments in people's faces but for some reason can't answer my question.
But I'll ask again
What is she guilty of?
Of KNOWING the truth and going to throw that false statement out there like it was true
or
not KNOWING the truth and talking about a subject that she has no knowledge of.
The first one makes her attempting to bash a country for no reason other than to make them look bad.
The second one means that she just running off at her mouth about things that she knows nothing about.
She's wrong on both counts.

As I said she made a mistake in my opinion on a fact (this is a fact and not an entire argument). Mistakes on facts happen often, as I said, given that newspapers have corrections that they post repeatedly. I don't know how corrections are done on television journalism...I don't think I've seen them. Plus it was an interview with her I thought.

I'm cool with mistakes. EVERYBODY MAKES THEM. That's not the issue. But she continue to believe she was RIGHT while making that mistake is what bothers me. Saying you were wrong goes a long way.

I'm just wondering if you got a chance to catch the video of the entire program that the clip was taken from - I'd love to hear your opinion on some of the observations made about the pundits - and about the observations that the pundits made themselves...
