It's great that you guys are contributing to making these peoples' lives hell.
I'm sure they appreciate it as much as people enjoy waiting for the results of STD tests.

It's funny because when I was growing up, I'd see him in BOP and Teen Beat and the likes and I never thought he was hot.

Ok, is there no one else on GC that thinks its tacky and rude to call these numbers?
If you really wanted a celeb's or past celeb's contact information it wouldn't be that hard to get . .
If you found such and such's number it wouldn't be cool to prank them normally, why is it ok now?

Actually, I think it would be ok to prank them normally. But, that's just me.
It's not really about pranking them for me, though. It's just to see if they actually answer for the hell of it.
It's like someone getting your number from the internet phone directories where the "unlisted" numbers are there for the most part with the published ones. You can change your number or simply get your phone records and press charges if it's an obscene or harrassing call. This is just a very famous internet directory 
I think most of these celebs just realize that it will blow over. Those that it truly bothers will change their number. Those that don't really care will just ride it out.

I wholeheartedly agree with this guy. I mean, are your lives that severely lacking for entertainment that you feel the need to pester other people for some sick sort of enjoyment? This obsession with celebrity is one of the many things that is wrong with today's American society. Who the F*** cares if you can call celebs? GET A DAMN LIFE!!
