Did we really need to bring up Gutherie's? I had almost blocked it from my mind, since I am a good 10 hour drive from the closest one...

I'll get my fix, though, when I go to Alabama in August and Athens in the fall - YAY!

Checked the national website of Sonic (www.sonicdrivein.com) and unfortunately there are no Sonics in the Northeast - nearest one would be in Virginia.

Mmmmmm, I drove to NC today to go wedding dress shopping and stopped for a Cook Out Milkshake. I think Cook Out needs to expand so I can get them daily in VA

Submarina's website: www.submarina.com

Only in San Diego, Riverside and the OC. But if you got the cash and the business acumen, they're willing to franchise.

Oh dear, how could I have forgotten this??? I saw an A&W franchise in Cairo (as in Egypt) and literally my eyes welled up from happiness. Nothing like a couple of cold mugs of root beer and a chili dog or two to make everything right.

Yeah, my family's good friend's with one of the guys who really got the franchise going (he owns three of the franchises in the SD area). If anyone comes out this way, it is DEFINITELY some place to try!

Subway...eat fresh.

Good call, but I don't think of that as fast food, since its real food, not processes. My favorite fast food is Bullets/Sonic/Checkers/whatever drive in restuarant. Or McDonalds cuz of the dollar menu, but I can't take fries from anywhere any more. Too greasy. Also, KFC tears my stomach a new one. I ate one piece the other night and spent the rest of the evening in the bathroom

Panera and Subway are great.

I don't eat any greasy fast food. McDonald's and Burger King are the worst by far.

I love Wendy's, Arby's, and Pizza Hut for when I need junky food.

For healthy options, it's Subway, Quizno's, and my most favorite of all......PITA PIT! Has anyone ever been there? They are mostly in college towns, since they stay open until 4am. Now the closest one to me is 90 miles away!!! Sob, sob, sob.

Talking favorite food

I like Johnny Rockets and Fat Burgers.
These places are cool to me because they have an old school theme going on in them. Plus the food is realy good, I like the entire atmosphere of the 2 places and the employee's are always great.
