That studio joint released with Experience: Jill Scott 826 + with that song "Gimme" doesn't count as her second?

Now, I dig a couple of songs from the CD...but yeah, overall wack compared to Brown Sugar, which I still bump.
Jill should be fine, but it's been awhile. I think of India Arie. I personally like her 2nd CD more than the first. But, I'm in the minority.
RANDOM NEWS: The greeks in the Dilated Peoples video, This Way are really greek. They belong to undergrad chapters in SoCal.

Kim from AI3 ---what is her name???
I know somebody spoke on it earlier but whaz up with Kim ?? from AI3's new album? I saw it at Target the other day, but didn't pull the trigger. Somebody said it was country or country/western?, which definitely would put it in the no-buy category for me no matter how fine she it.

Her video is currently in MTV rotation. It's so hokey. She has a lovely voice, but again...corny.

I appreciate the sound and what he was going for. I do love the rough sound quality of it. It's like listening to an album. However, beyond Devil's Pie...it was not as good as the first effort.

Sorry Frat
I can't even give that CD away(currently in a shoebox with the rest of the disappointing CD's...keeping Mama's Gun company). I bought it b/c Brown Sugar was soooo good. Send it On was the only GOOD song on the CD. i didn't understand it lyrically or musically.

RBL I'd be more than happy to take it off your hands, since it is gathering dust.
You can send em COD.

Mama's Gun wasn't as big a disappointment as Voodoo(close though)..... it was a far cry from Baduizm. I'm all for artistic maturation and growth but DANG!!!

I gotta disagree STRONGLY on both opinions.
Granted, neither album was as accessible or catchy as previous efforts, but they were still BEAUTIFUL pieces of music. Devil's Pie and Left and Right were perhaps the only songs I disliked on Voodoo, and on Mama's Gun I can listen to the whole album without skipping a track.
