I have a cousin whose name is pronounced the same way....but I think she doesn't have the first "R" in her name.....
Dang I miss my NY family!

Lots of people call me "Erika" Badu because my hair is natural and I wear headwraps sometime. I am always like , "You are so original!"

Soror you ain't right. Actually over the years I have gotten use to the extra E in my name, but I must admit it does start to wear on a sista when it is constantly spelled wrong because people aren't paying attn.
I met a Kim some years ago, and her name was spelled
Kimberleigh. I was like that is just to much.

As a bored child stuck inthe house one day I came up with 13 different varioations on the spelling of Kimberly, including the leigh one. We actually have a neighborhood street here that is Kimberleigh.

I love my name because it's unique, especially in spelling and pronunciation.
Not La"Key"a or La "ch"aya, it's La - Ki (eye)- ya, rhymes with Mya, and the "H" is silent, origin: Hebrew
|
NoworNever,
My neice's middle name is similar to yours. It is Chaiya - it means "life" in Hebrew.
I like your name.

See Epitome, your post is informative b/c I've always wanted to name my daughter (whenever I have one ) Laila but wondered how it would be pronounced. I actually prefer the "Leilah" spelling but that would be *totally* mispronounced.
Love your name!

My name is TRACY. Not Tracey. Everyone automatically throws that "e" in there.
