Does anyone know the date that the death episode will air?

I think it's a little creepy, but if he loved the show so much, I'm sure he would want it to go on.

I don't remember hearing a date on it. They said they would air the three episodes already filmed starting next week. Then they would show repeats while they write that episode and the rest of the season and begin filming them.

The new episodes begin tonite at 8pm. The father, played by John Ritter, will have passed away on the show.

I'm definately going to be watching, even though it's gona remind me of my best friend who just lost her father two weeks ago.

i am watching it now and i am seriously on the verge of bawling my eyes out. there is this eerie realism about it.

Yea....I'm watching the show too....and crying along with them.

The writers did a wonderful job showing what it's really like for a family when all the visitors have gone home....very real. I'm guessing there isn't a studio audience during this filming because it's toooo quiet. If I were a cast member, I don't think I would want an audience there either.

I saw it-- it was done very well, very tasteful. I never watched the show-- do they usually play the audience's laugh tape normally?

'audience laugh tape' that sounds cute. anyway, i guess they thought the audience would take away from the reality of not having john, which is true. i liked it that way, but it was so heartbreaking.

My daddy died suddenly last year, so watching this episode was very healing for me. It was very realistic, even with the "little" jokes, remembering the last words you said, and "it's not supposed to happen on aisle three!" I'm VERY glad that they didn't use a laugh track - that decision showed true class on behalf of ABC.

As hard as it was to watch, each of the actors on the set were probably dealing with the pain on a very personal level. Kudos to each of them for pulling it off.

Having lost my parents within 30 days of each other and losing other family and friends totally without notice, I could relate to how the "family" was reacting.

When the guests leave..that's when the real reality sinks in and it stinks.

I look forward to seeing how they handle the other episodes.

Too bad, Katie Segal reminds me of my ex-sis in law.

I also watched the episode tonight and thought it was done very tastefully.

I don't know how the show is going to survive without Ritter, but I plan to tune in for the first few weeks and see.

My sincerest sympathy on losing both of your parents within such a short time. As a geriatric counselor, I see this happen so often, and yet, each time, it just hurts. God bless you.

I was getting teary at work this morning watching the small segment on the show they had on Good Morning America. The cast members were talking about John, laughing about him and how he was with the entire cast. It was touching. They also said that they intentionally filmed on a closed set because they knew that the tears would be real and that it would be a lot more genuine if they could take their time, not have to worry about an audience, etc.

I just finished watching the episode, too. Both my mom and dad were crying, and so was I... I can't imagine having to go through something like that... I'm glad they did the show though; it was healing for a few of my friends who have lost parents, as well as a lot of other people.
