28. He was 26 (a few months shy of 27).
How long did you know each other before "the question" was popped?
A little over a year.
How long was the engagement?
Just shy of 2 months.

It was the end of our sophomore years in college. I was 20 and he was 19.
How long did you know each other before "the question" was popped?
We had been dating just shy of 4.5 years (he proposed on Oct. 9th; Oct. 13th would have been 4.5 years). It was a long 4.5 years though (my mother died, I had some major surgery, etc. so we had some true tests mixed in that we passed with flying colors!!).
How long was the engagement?
October 9th - June 16th. About 9 months. I wouldn't want it any longer with the whole wedding planning thing!

1 year 2 months - we would have been happy with shorter, but we couldn't get a location booked before then that wasn't a full-blown "winter" month.

17 months (we had been living together for 9 months).. He proposed at my work Christmas party since we originally met at work (he had since moved on to another job)

16 months
We just celebrated 7 years married and it will be 10 years together in July

We've been married for about 1 1/2 years and are in the process of buying our first home.

Answers:
19 -- she was within a couple months of 18
Question was never really "popped." It just kind of became obvious and was one of those "understood" things after a while.
Due to the above, there's no real answer. We dated about four years.
We will have been married 33 years one week from today.

How old were you when you met your husband/wife?: We MET when I was 19, did not start dating until I was 20 (but only a few months before I turned 21). I STRONGLY disliked him when we first met sophomore year LOL!
How long did you know each other before "the question" was popped?: We had been dating just over 4 years, but knew eachother about 5 1/2
How long was the engagement?: 10 months
We will have been together for 9 years in July, married for 4 on August 19.

I was 20, he was 24. He was our Theta Sweetheart's best friend from home. 
We were "together" for about 1 year, 2 months when he popped the Q. I knew the day after I met him I would marry him, though.
We were engaged for about a year and a half. Long enough for me to graduate college and find a job.
We celebrate 7 years in September. It certainly hasn't been an easy road, but nothing worth doing ever is.

How long did you know each other before "the question" was popped?: We had been dating just over 2.5 years, but knew each other about 3. I didn't want to get engaged before the ink was dry on his divorce decree
How long was the engagement?: 1 year 9.5 months
We will have been together for 13 years in November, married for 9 on December 11.

We made the relationship "official" (i.e. began courting, seriously) on September 1, 2005 after having known each other for almost a year. We got engaged the following February though I don't have any idea of the date.

The engagement was really just a formality and a chance to give our families time to adjust to the idea. We were married about seven months after we got engaged. Our civil wedding date was September 1, 2006 because I would never have remembered the date otherwise.
Our church wedding was...lemme check the paper...July 27, 2008.

5 months until civil wedding day.... then we had a renewal aboard a cruise ship a year later. We wanted to get married at sea but it wasn't allowed so we got married a year early to make it happen
