Just saw Hairspray, Nine and Movin' Out a few weeks ago. All were fun.

If I had to choose my absolute favorites, though...

Aida
Les Miz
Hair
Godspell

Pretty different.

I could go on and on and on

I would have to say that I absolutely LOVED Thoroughly Modern Millie and Hairspray when I went up to NYC in March...and I definitely agree that Sutton Foster is absolutely amazing and Gavin Creel is sooooo hot . My top musicals, in no particular order would have to be...

Crazy For You
A Chorus Line
My Fair Lady
Cabaret
Chicago
West Side Story
Rent
Les Miserables

Anyone wanna talk performing arts talk, PM me please!!

Had to make a decision between Millie and Nine when I was in NY. Have seen previous Millie(s), so chose Nine.

I just saw Man of La Mancha with Brian Stokes Mitchell and Marin Mazzie. They are incredibly talented. It is a wonderful production. If you have an opportunity, I strongly encourage you to see it.

Rent (blasting the soundtrack/singing along is the way my roomie and I relieve bad moods)
West Side Story
Les Misérables (though I must say, I like it better in French...)

and the most amazing to see in person, by far, was Jekyll & Hyde.

How could I forget The Secret Garden.

Daughter number one has played Martha three times -- once in HS and the International Thespain Festival Main Stage, and twice in professional community theatre productions.

Son played Colin in one of the profesional shows that daughter was in.

What beautiful music.

Ah DeltAlum! The Secret Garden has some of the most haunting melodies. Props to your daughter: "Hold On" is my favorite song!

ForeverDiamond- New Bedford Festival Theater @ the Zeiterion Theater in New Bedford, MA is putting on Jekyll and Hyde running 8/8-8/10 and 8/15-8/17. http://www.nbfestivaltheatre.com/ The cast is AMAZING! I'm getting SO excited lol.

LuaBlanca,

Have seen J&H a couple of times -- once with Linda Eder. Speaking of talent, and beautiful music.

edited to add:

"Hold On" got such an ovation at the International Thespian Festival" that it literally "stopped the show." I asked our daughter once if she remembered how she felt and she said she still dreams about it."

Great piece of music.
