The difference I see is that women generally have a choice whether to begin drinking. Being slipped a powerful drug without their knowledge is something entirely different.
Granted at some point judgement becomes impaired, but the option to quit before that point is always there.
Besides, a guy might choose a "mean drunk" and get his butt kicked.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: re: coasters
I agree, but a common definition of date rape now is to have sex with an inebriated girl.
In fact, there have been arguments, and its been advanced on our campus, that even one drink can be too many if the girl chooses to take exception the next day.
So the guys is supposed to assess the degree of inebriation, willingness and basically take an educated guess based on risk.

Also, and ladies feel free to chime in, I have heard girls say in the past:
"He got me drunk and took advantage of me, he's a jerk (or stronger word)"
Or
"He took advantage of me while I was drunk . . ."
So isn't that the same scenario just using alcohol to create a more fertile environement for sex?
But I do agree that its more extreme to say slip a drug that renders you unconscious into a drink, carry you out, and rape an unconscious body.

NO WAY!!! how can you even compare the 2????? being SLIPPED something that you don't know about is NOT the same as choosing to drink. "more fertile environment"????? that is just disgusting. how can you say that????
and YES, guys can take advantage of a girl when she is drunk. there is a difference between choosing to drink with a guy and getting yourself drunk, and being drunk already and a guy takes advantage of that. huge difference. is this the case all the time? of course not. but to say that women always cry foul and it is never the guy's fault is sickening.

And to say that it never happens is just as sickening.

When is the guy taking advantage of the girl when she wants to have sex but she is drunk?
At what point is he supposed to say:
"Wooaaahh Nelly! We need to get you back to the stable, Frisky little philly like you doesn't want to be ridden when you are in that state! Obviously you just aren't thinking clearly."

Actully it is the same thing. IF the girl is too drunk to turn down another drink, or even if it isn't, but you paid for the beer or whatever or got it for her or handed it to, its the same as slipping her a roofie. It is now, anyway.
