[B]Events, not Rush. There's a huge difference. Just a thought, that's fine to go to different orgs events but dont EXPECT a warm reception if RusheeGirl had been attending a number of NPHCSorority A's events (events that count like fundraisers, community service etc where people SEE YOU) and then show up to NPHC SororityB's events (parties don't count). It looks SUSPECT. That's how it is, I didn't make the rules.
Maybe herein lies the problem...If an interested lady is researching orgs to see which org she is most interested in, best suits her, etc. one would think she should attend public events, not only to meet sisters, other interests etc., but to be servicing the community in general. And if atttending multiple events across the different orgs is taboo, then chances are she is going to stereotype, and/or perpetuate the stereotypes that exist about the different orgs because she didn't take the time to learn what they are really about. Would anyone want an uniformed woman as a member of their org?
Does having not made the rules, mean one can't stand up to them or change them?

Let me point out that this is not a universal rule across the country.
At certain places you can attend events for more than one sorority. It's up to you to feel out the particular place you are to see if that's acceptable.
You also have to keep tabs on your behavior while doing this as well.

You bring up a good point. It definately depends on the campus. My undergrad had a very small population of minority students, so everyone attended everyone else's events, just so you could socialize with other minority students. So in that situation, it wasn't a bad thing to attend other org's events.

Yeah and attending events means nothing unless you make it known that you are an aspirant. I know many people who attended events but did not want to be ANY sorority. They just liked to support the programs.

NPHCers:
Is it considered bad form for friends to show up to events together? In NPC rush, we usually worry about girls who are too attached to a friend or roommate because it turns into a package deal. I am sure the same is true for your actual intake, but what about prior to that?

As long as both persons are interested in the org, it shouldn't be a problem.

For me, it would depend on the nature of the events and the quality of the aspirants.
Generally, I want to get to know aspirants independent of one another.
