The song is originally "Boola Boola", written in 1905. The UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA combined the music and changed the words from the UNC fight song "I'm a Tarheel Born" to fit the music and make it their own.
So, when you sing this song, it's OU's fight song:
Boomer Sooner, Boomer Sooner
Boomer Sooner, Boomer Sooner
Boomer Sooner, Boomer Sooner
Boomer Sooner, OK U!
Oklahoma, Oklahoma
Oklahoma, Oklahoma
Oklahoma, Oklahoma
Oklahoma, OK U!
I'm a Sooner born and Sooner bred
and when I die, I'll be Sooner dead
Rah Oklahoma, Rah Oklahoma
Rah Oklahoma, OK U!

I have a feeling its a take off of the second verse of "Boomer Sooner", or from "I'm a Tar Heel Born", which Oklahoma stole from North Carolina. Both of them use those words.
I still don't get it in either one of them.
ETA: And Rhode Island, apparently!

I think this has been mentioned numerous times but not sure in this thread...anyone even the girls I know who we're thrilled with their choice 2nd guess themselves. Makes it more interesting that they may love the house and all but they don't yet know who the girls are that will make up their pledge class and who they will be spending the next 4 years with. I know it took my daughter to mid her sophomore year to find the girls she really connected with. Now she lives in the house and loves her roommate, suite mates and has a great floor and always someone to do things with. She is also learning fast the difference between "fun" friends and "real" friends. It's a process but been a wonderful one so "make it work" LOL!

^^^^^ This!
One of the minor things I immediately loved about Kappa Delta is the olive green/pearl white colors. My HS was orange and black, and my college was orange and black. Green and white was an oasis...
Hope the OP is enjoying new member time!

It took a while for green and white to grow on me. As an alumna though, I painted my house green and white. I tiled my kitchen green and white. It's amazing how opinions can change so drastically.

I know what you mean. Half my house is red, black and white.

Exactly! Thank you very much.
