Twins?

what a great story!!

there was a set of twins in my pledge class, but, alas, i do not have a story to share.

we had a member who had a twin who was a member of sigma kappa.

we did have quite a few sisters who were "sisters".

I love all of the stories! Jocelyn's story is my favorite so far. I got chills reading it.

At an undergraduate chapter of my sorority, we had a very unique intake for Spring 2006.

There were 6 new sorors, and 5 of them were legacies while one was a legacy for a different NPHC sorority (major coup ). Two of the legacies were identical twins (still can't tell them apart), whose older sister pledged that chapter a few years before them. Two other new sorors were sisters, and their Mom, maternal aunt, and an aunt by marriage are Sigmas, too! It was an amazing experience to behold.

My chapter had a set of twins, but they were each in different new member classes. One of them was a Rho Sigma, and everyone (except our sisters) got confused when they saw the other twin wearing our letters.

We also had another girl who was a twin, but her sister went to a different school.

I believe that there is also a set of twins in KKG at CMU.

At one point, we had three sets of twins in our chapter. Only one pair gave me difficulty and when I had to announce their names during a ceremony I messed up and called them the other's name. I'm not good with twins.

My Theta chapter currently has a set of identical twins. I was told by a girl in my class who was a Rho chi this year for Alpha Gam that both of them were also Rho Chi's. I'm sure that was confusing at first for some of the PNM's.

It was very confusing on Wednesdays (all Greeks wear letters on Wednesdays at UCF) if you were a new member and didn't know the girls yet.

No kidding. My second week at college, I saw one of my floormates at a party. I smiled and waved at her across the dance floor, and she gave me a blank look and then turned away. I was so insulted! Later that night I tried again to catch her eye, and she came up to me and said, "You know my sister, don't you." Ahhhh....then it all made sense. Although my floormate and her twin went to the same college, they chose to live in different houses, one was pre-med and the other majored in Classics, etc. etc. Lucky thing, too, because as twins go, they were very tough to tell apart.

My school had a set of twins rushing a few years ago. They were both deadset on another house that historically took all the girls from their hometown. They had both been really nice all week and we really did like them; one twin knew a lot of girls in our house through sports and the other one had been very polite but seemed a little disinterested and (as we found out later) had been saying very bluntly to the other houses that she was not interested in them because we were the only other house they would take if they didn't get their first choice house (gee thanks!) Because of this they had been dropped by everyone except us and their first choice so on pref night they both preffed us and the other house. Well I guess they ended up low on the bid list of the other house and they matched quota before they got to them so they had to go to their 2nd choice (us). Unfortunatly for the one who had been going around announcing that we would be her fallback if she didn't get the other house we had placed her low on our bid list too and we matched quota before we got to her but after we had placed the other and we couldn't take quota additions because we were already at campus total. So one twin ended up getting a bid from us and the other fell through completely. It was very tense for the first few days of whether or not the one twin would depledge and rush again for the other house with her twin the next year or if she would stay. Their parents were very unhelpful too, we got a letter from them basically telling us that they would force their daughter to depledge if we didn't offer her sister a snap bid. They also sent a letter to the other house demanding to know why they both hadn't gotten bids from them. Finally the director of greek life had to get involved and talk to their parents. But in the end the twin that did get a bid started making friends with her pledge class and getting more involved in the chapter so she decided that she had made a mistake by not putting us first on her bid list to begin with and told her parents to back off. Ultimatly both twins decided that it might be better if they didn't do everything the same and even though they were still really close I think it was a relief to the twin in our house that she had other friends and could do things independently of her sister.

Her twin, who in all fairness matured A LOT during her freshman year, decided to rush the next year. We asked the twin in our house how she felt about her sister chosing us or another group and she told us that even though she would like it if her sister shared the love she had for our chapter she also didn't want to be "one of the twins" again and had liked having a seperate life. Her sister did attend our pref party but ended up pledging the other house that she had wanted the year before so I guess they both ended up happy!

Identical twins went through formal rush my freshman year. One joined Kappa Kappa Gamma, the other joined Kappa Alpha Theta. Both were huge, well-respected houses on my campus.

We had a fairly long article in our magazine, The Adelphean, about multiples recently. Many were twins or triplets, and if I remember properly, there was one set of quads - not all of them women. In each case, all of the female multiples went ADPi.

When I was in school, there were four sets of twins among the sororities, and I think three sets in fraternities. The females all went to the same GLO, and one set of the male twins split up, while the others stayed with the same. One set that was in ADPi were named Aimee and Angie - can you tell their approximate ages?

i'm a twin! but that's about all i can add to this thread, as my sister never rushed. we aren't identical, but we're still very close because even fraternal twins share so many of the same experiences that we couldn't help but be close, even when we were at each other's throats

We had a set of twins at my chapter and they were in my new member/pledge class. I knew them before we were sisters, and I thought they were pretty much the same personality wise, and in many ways that was true, and the reason why they ended up at Theta. They always took a special picture with their bigs/littles, that was really cute, since that was the first time they were in separate "families."

In 2003, a set of twins joined my chapter. They knew that they wanted to join the same chapter, and luckily, it worked out that way One of them is my little sister!

There were a set of identical twins in my chapter, they were a year older than me. They both joined via formal rush but through seperate rush groups.

One actually rushed me quite a bit when I went through and the other one ended up being a member of my "family."
