I have watched the trailer already 3 times. I am not sick of it, each time I get more excited for the movie. I really hope the movie lives up to the trailer and the book.

I'm just curious how they are going to keep the violence in the book and get away with a PG-13 rating. Not going to mention any specific deaths for spoiler reasons, but there are definitely a couple that are going to be trouble...

I'm actually OBSESSED with these books.

The trailer just seriously made me so happy. It was so perfectly emotional in all the right ways. I CAN'T WAIT TIL MARCH!!!!

Thanks to this thread, I picked up a copy of The Hunger Games at the library this weekend. I returned it yesterday and finished Catching Fire this morning. I haven't started Mockingjay yet, but the first two were surprisingly quick, interesting reads. I'm glad that I read them after the trilogy was completed, because I think I would've hard a hard time waiting between the first two books.

I'm looking forward to the movies. Although, I know I'll be disappointed. Just based on the quick opening ceremonies clip in the preview, it doesn't look like Katniss will be wearing Cinna's awesome creations as described in the book.

On the one end I'm like "yeah that sucks" and then on the other I'm like "well... is it even possible to do it?" So, I think that maybe the imagery and metaphor will be similar but she won't actually be *on fire*.

I'm looking forward to the movies. From what I've seen, they've done a pretty great job at sticking as close as possible to the imagery in the book.

I know, I know. But with all the CGI capabilities, I'd think it'd be possible to do it. I'll reserve judgment for this once I actually see the movies.

I saw the trailer prior to another movie I saw over the holidays. It wasn't any different from the trailer MC linked earlier, but I guess I paid more attention. It appears to me, from just a brief glimpse of Prim at the reaping, that Madge will not be the one who gives Katniss the pin. I hope I saw that wrong, because that would kinda bum me out. Yes, it's minor (as is K's backpack being black instead of orange, and the possible change in her attire), but it stands out enough to merit commenting on.

Regarding the third book, I really liked it. Yes, it lacked a Hunger Game, but IMO the battle made up for it. It did seem to end abruptly, but considering everything that happened (and Collins' insistence that each book have exactly 27 chapters), I can see why it ended the way it did. I, too, missed the old Peeta, but the 'new' Peeta brought a (much-needed) added dimension to the plot.

All in all, an excellent series. I'm more excited about the movies now that I've finished the lot. Looking forward to watching it play out on the big screen.

I liked the third book up until about 2/3 of the way through. Then it just completely ran out of steam for me. I blame the insistance on having exactly 27 chapters divided into three nine-chapter "acts" for that. It really felt to me like "well, let's just hurry up and tie this all up." Only for me, it wasn't tied up, and it didn't fit with the rest of the trilogy. It felt to me like "Oh, another character we (and Katniss) care about dead. Oh well, too bad, move along, we have a schedule to keep."

Can you tell I was really disappointed in the end?

It was very abrupt and I was slightly disappointed in it. I loved the books but the third one really took more to get into especially once they got past their hiding place.

Going into a movie expecting to be disappointed helps! I really liked it! And I'm so glad I was wrong about Katniss' attire.

I especially liked the way the movie handled the Opening Ceremonies/Presentation of the Tributes. It was perfect: So glitzy, so red-carpet. The visual presentation of the dichotomy between Haves and HaveNots was spot-on.

There were things I wished they had done differently, but at least I wasn't wanting to scream at the screen throughout the whole thing. I wondered how they would get away with a PG-13 rating considering all the killing, and I'm happy with what they chose to do. I do wish, however, that they would've given us more of an opportunity to meet the other Tributes.

So I am late to this party... but I loved the first 2 books. Not as thrilled about the last one, don't like the fact that they were just killing people off left and right.

Although I am really excited to see the movie. I hope they do the book some justice.

Just finished the first book.

LOVE.

Hopefully 2 and 3 are just as good.

Although it makes me nuts sometimes, there's definitely perks to my job: swag from media reps.

One of our magazine reps sent a note to us asking us to reply with "Team Gale" or "Team Peeta". I got my Team Peeta* shirt in the mail along with a $20 AMC gift card for the movie. WOO!

*I'm hoping I still like Peeta by the end of the series. I'm almost done with book two. I feel like I should like Gale, but I can't help but like Peeta.

Has anyone else had a hard time finding copies of "Catching Fire?" I don't have a Kindle so I am still a paper book gal...can't find a copy anywhere!

It can go either way, for me.

Only after I finished the books could I choose one over the other.
