If my brother doesn't leave a message by tomorrow, I will go through with my threat to present him with a chia pet. I am sick and tired of him waiting until 2 days before Christmas and then dictating that he MUST have Brand XYZ of whatever, and that's the only thing that will suffice.

I think you should go with the Chia pet, even if he does call! (One year my homeroom class bought a Chia - eventually it grew hair alright - MOLD!)

It's still a thought - he's getting a tie, for sure. And I understand that he's ordering himself a few videos that I get to reimburse him for.

He & his wife were supposedly going to Israel this coming year (he's a pastor), so I was all ready to get them both nice passport covers, a travel adapter, Imodium, Fodor's, stuff like that, but it sounds as if it's been put off. That would have been SO easy!

DH and I don't exchange gifts with many people. We have small families (we're both only children) so we give gifts to our parents... and there is a couple we've been friends with for years... and that's it. (Our card list, OTOH, is a mile long.)

Mom: Bath & Body Works gift package
Mom & Dad: Courvoisier gift package
Mom & Dad: Shar Pei tea towel and note pad (there's a family in-joke about old wrinkly dogs)

MIL: Bailey's gift package
FIL: Bombay Sapphire gift package
MIL: Handmade needlepoint playing-card themed tissue box cover (she loves bridge)

Friends: Handmade needlepoint TARDIS tissue box cover (they are sci-fi geeks, like us )
Friends: Something off their Amazon wish list. We wanted to get them the Dr. Horrible DVD but someone already bought it for them - d'oh!
