Sorry to jump in ladies . . but since I noticed that you all mentioned "Ms. Wendy" I just had to co-sign . . . I listen to her just about everyday. The people that call in putting their life on front street is just so crazy to me. I thought I was alone here . .since Wendy Williams seems to be rarely mentioned. Good to know there are other listeners here

It's Official, Toni will not be returning...
 I was hoping they would work things out.
“Girlfriends”
Mara Brock Akil shared that Jill Marie Jones, who played Toni, is not returning to “Girlfriends.” Brock Akil hopes to use the loss of that friendship as a plot point for the character of Joan, Toni’s grade-school friend, to explore. Maya and Darnell will be dealing with a long-distance marriage. The show will deal with some of the issues surrounding career success, with Maya’s book deal, Joan’s restaurant, and other characters’ careers.

Well I noticed that on the commercial for the new shows in the fall they only have the three Girlfriends coming back. I just can't watch the show without "Toni Childs"! I may watch but it won't be on my TIVO!

Maybe it's a ploy to make us all watch the premiere, just to see what went wrong, then they'll be like, "Surprise! Toni's still here!"
I hope.... The show was already headed downhill. This will only make it worse.

Agreed
I agree, the four of them made a dynamic chemistry. I could see loosing Lynn, but Toni, no way, she definitely gave the show its charisma. Honestly, I'm surprised they just didn't end the series, it would have been best (you know leave us wanting more), the last season went down hill...it didn't get good until the last couple of epsiodes and there were more reruns than new shows... Sad, because it was one of my favorites...

I don't believe the show will be anything without Tony's character! I still watch reruns of the show. Maybe its time to have the season finale with Tony's character gone and also the demise of the girlfriends. What else could they show us besides Joan and Maya? Lynn's character needs a lot of help to even make a show- her lack of not keeping a job is getting pretty old!

Hey girls sorry to crash. Girlfriends is my favorite show but I only get to watch the reruns on UPN during the late afternoon.
Is Lynn still hung up on that really ugly "singer" or is she still a lesbian? Her character got pretty boring.
It won't be the same without Toni. I'm really curious what the storylines will be now.

Is she the little girl that was dancing in Omarion's "Touch" video? If not, they favor one another.
ETA: I looked her up imdb.com and I realize that she played Taina! I used to love that show! She was the Latina version of "That's So Raven" sans the psychic powers.

I remember her as Taina from Nickelodeon, Nick Freno (an old WB show) and Life With Mikey (movie with Michael J Fox).

I'm not sure that I am going to like the "new" girlfriends. I want to see the first episode to see how I like it without Tony.

We aren't getting the repeat!  I didn't even remember that Everybody Hates Chris started tonight too! I MISSED IT!!
I am glad that they didn't try to put the "Black Block" up against Desperate Housewives. I'm sorry, but DH would have won....
