Thanks, everyone. I had my second rabies series on Friday, the next one is tomorrow (Tuesday). They're not as bad as the first set, but take a while. At least they don't put them in the stomach anymore, though.
Just so you know, and I hope no one ever has to get these, they can only put so many cc's of the anti-rabies serum within so many inches of each other. I also needed a tetanus shot (I knew I was due for that) and an anti-rabies vaccine. So, I ended up with a major shot in each arm, one on each cheek, four in each thigh, and *shudder* two
in the bite - my
PALM! The last two were the killers! The doctor had to
swish the needle in my palm, to make sure it was all covered.
Then I got a call from the Health Department.
I have to catch the cat who did this, take it to the vet to be euthanized, and have them send them the body. I've only seen this cat once since it happened, and trapping him is NOT going to be easy, especially since there are some very nice, almost completely socialized kittens who hang around the same place - I don't want to traumitize the kittens. *sigh* Things they don't tell you when you go into rescue!
BTW, I have a gorgeous 5 month old neutered male Siamese mix, flame/amber points, beautiful azure blue eyes,
very social, who is a virtual purr machine in need of a home. We're all allergic (even our dog!), or we'd keep him ourselves - he's that lovable! I hope to be able to post pictures later tonight or tomorrow. Just PM me if you're interested.
