The other was Becca Bettis. I can't imagine what their friends and family are going through...

I've read that this is a very common problem for (relatively) new drivers. They make a driving error and then over-compensate.

For many of these young people, it will be the first time that friends of theirs have died. It will be very hard for them, and even more unspeakably so for the parents and family members of the girls. My heart and my prayers go out to all of them. I am so terribly sorry for their loss.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and sisters of the girls lost in the accident. We pray that everyone returns to Alabama safely. God bless and be safe.

I'm so tired of hearing about young people losing their lives in one way or another. It seems like it's happened far too many times this year. =[

My thoughts are with the friends and parents of these girls and to the Gamma Pi chapter.

Kappa Dancer, you are so right! Our hearts are broken anew every time it happens. The memorial services for both girls will be held Tuesday afternoon- Becca's in Dallas and Virginia's in Mountain Brook (outside Birmingham).

Prayers for all of our college children as they return to campus from the holiday weekend, and for everyone battling Gustav.
