I'll be there, too. Texas had a good recruiting class, but ya never know. The last time we played the piggies in Austin, I was with my Texas friend and his Arkie wife. It wasn't a fun day.

I'm planning on getting down there. Not for sure yet.

Road trips this year include Lexington and Starkville, and possibly a bowl game.

I'm really dreading Starkville.

Yup, winner of Florida/Georgia will play for and win the national title as an undefeated or one loss team (LSU may beat one of them). UGA and UF are far and away the two best teams in the country this year though.

Ole Miss will dread the day of getting Nutt...I know we did.

The very fact that we lost Kodi Burns and Lee Ziemba to Auburn proves everything.

Petrino is the recruitment master, however.

I am so thrilled that no one cares about Boise State anymore and they aren't on any important lists.

Inserting a little break in the SEC love-fest going on, a moment of celebration and anticipation for life up here in the big stadiums:

University of Michigan started a multi-year renovation of their stadium after last season. The Big House will end up with over 108,000 seats.

Night Record since 1960 - 207-59-3 (.774)
Overall Tiger Stadium Record: 361-139-18 (.714)

Right before you walk out on that field to face LSU under those lights, you'd best kneel down and pray, cause you're going to spend the next 60 minutes in the most hostile environment known to college sports, the one they call Death Valley.

Barely, it only took three overtimes, eh?

It was a day game kickoff for LSU.

This blog entry will please our SEC friends (I was pleased myself to see Penn State and other Big 10 representation in there as well) -- Rating College Football's Bests: Which Schools Have The Richest Tradition?

We all knew how much tradition we have down here already. College football isn't just Saturdays, it's my entire fall.

The lack of Auburn on that list does raise some doubts with me though. I don't like 'em, but the War Eagle circling Jordan-Hare and the "Weagle, weagle, war damn eagle" chant are some of the richer traditions in the SEC in my mind.

I'll join - we do a money pick'em pool anyway, so I can just port the ss to yahoo, plus add message board taunts that the SEC fans will have to look up in that dusty old antebellum dictionary in the guest quarters.
