Wow LILG you must really know your hockey. That was the correct answer. This one is for killarney rose. Who scored the most goals in the 1995 all-star game? You get a gold star if you get this one right

The correct answer is no one. No all star game was played that year. Next up, Lil G. Who was the first russian goalie to record a playoff win?

Tretiuk (sp?) ...
Is this another trick question? Khabibulin is the only russian goalie that I can think of but did he get any playoff wins, hmmmm.

Well first of all, they paid the refs to call a couple of questionalble penalties.
Than they tied rockets to their skates, but that didn't work.
Than they tried to pay canadien players 1000 rubles each to throw the game, but the canadien players said no because rubles mean nothing to them.
And finally, they tried to sneak an extra guy on the ice on a breakaway in the deciding game but their attempt failed when they got an offsides call. The refs figured it out once they saw the russians have six men on the ice plus the goalie.

Ex Greek
- Bravo, kudos to a great answer...
With all the talk of salaries and free agent signings there's a lot of noise being made about what impact rising salaries will have on the NHL and NHLPA.
Here's some good quotes:
'No, don't give us that much money.' Obviously, if they continue to raise the salaries, they must be making money."
and
You go with what people want," Damphousse said. "If you raise the prices and people go for it, you're okay. If people don't buy it, that's when you adjust. That's the limit"
These two quotes were taken from Vincent Damphousse of The Sharks.
And here's another opposing viewpoint by Brian Burke:
I know we can't support the salaries. I know that some of the teams who have spent that money are doing it without the financial capability to pay the money. I'm running my business like a business. I'm going head-to-head with people who are crazy as far as I'm concerned."
I know one of teams that spent crazy money lost $20 million last year," Burke said.
So i ask you, do you think the NHL is playing a destructive path of follow the leader with MLB?
Are we destined to go for another strike?
Should Gary Bettman be replaced with someone who knows what he's doing?

Alright guys, Team Canada released their roster and i'm wondering what everyone's opinion on who will make it and who will go home crying.
Those already on the team
Centres:
Lemeiux Sakic Yzerman
Wingers:
Kariya Nolan
on D:
Pronger Blake Neidermeyer
The Rest
Goalies: any surprise?
Brodeur, Roy, Cujo, Belfour
Defence:
Macinnis, Jovanoski, Desjardins, Matvichuk, Morris, Redden, Stevens, Foote, Brewer
4 of these guys will make the team
Centres/Wingers:
Peca, Lindros, Primeau, Recchi, Gagne, Morrow, Nieuwendyke, Carter, Smythe, Fleury, Tanguay, Madden, Shanahan, Turgeon, Arnott
only 8 of this group of 15 will make it
[This message has been edited by Lil_G because the information containing the previous roster was incorrect (edited July 23, 2001).]

#1 that is an unbeatable team. Anyways, Stuart Mcabe and brewer won't make it. I think it is obvious which forwards will make it. I don't see anyomne beating them in the medal rounds

You don't think stuart will make the team? I think he's got a good shot?
Here's my predictions:
Goalies, Cujo and Brodeur will make the team, I think it would be wise to bring in a young goalie (Luongo) as the 3rd since he probably won't see any action anyway.
Defence:
1st pairing: Pronger with MacInnis
2nd pairing: Blake with Jovanovski
3rd pairing: Stuart with Neidermeyer
reserve D: Adam Foote
Up front:
1st Line:
Kariya at left wing, Lemieux at center and Allison at right wing
2nd line:
Arnott at left wing, Sakic at center and Nolan at right wing
3rd line:
Smythe at left wing,Yzerman at Centre, Lindros at right wing
4th Line:
O'Neil at left wing, Peca at centre, Thornton at Right Wing
Those are my picks, we'll see how they differ from gretz'

I totally agree with everyone about Allison. Maybe someone has something against him. I am going to laugh my a$$ off if lindros does make it though. He should be put on a european team even though he is canadien

Yeah if Allison is off the time, watch out for some rioting. There is a lot of connections at work though, i really don't think neiuwendyke and morrow would have been invited if Hitchcock wasn't one of the assistants.
