Aiming High

I was reading in "Psychology Today" mag. and it was saying that a new study reveals just how strong our preferences are for the taller-man-shorter-woman duo. Researchers found that only 23% of men would consider dating a woman taller than they are. Women were even bigger snobs. Only 4% were open to breaking the romantic tradition.

I think there may be a thread on this, but I was posting this one because I honestly think most women would date a shorter man if he had copious resources. A prime example would be Tom Cruise/Katie Holmes/Nicole Kidman.

I prefer taller regardless, but would you go shorter if he had a great personality and a little money (lol). Guys, would you date a woman that was taller than you?

I wish there was a way we could get a % bar going on this one.

I'm short and I don't encounter too many men shorter than I am.

The ones I have encountered weren't too attractive, except for a couple. Some of them felt they had to be asswipes or obsessed with themselves to make up for their short stature.

I'm attracted to a certain look and I always find that in men who range from 4" to 1'5" taller than I am. There's no man shortage so I've never had to venture to men who are 5' tall.

I don't think I could date someone shorter than me. I'm only 5'2", and thats stretching it about a quarter inch, lol. I've come across two guys that were about my height, tried getting to know them, but it could have never been more than a friendship. I like a guy to be at least as tall as I am with heels on as a minimum, because I wear them alomost daily (which means he can't be any shorter than about 5'7") My preference however, is at least 5'11, 6' even. And there's no such thing as too tall

No, I'm not a Kappa sweet. I'm a Krimson Kourt.

You're 5'2", so you shouldn't have a problem at all.

Geez, he can be the sweetest guy ever, but if he's shorter than me, it's just not gonna work out.

I'm 5' 8" and I come across quite a few guys who are shorter than I am, it's kind of a big turnoff for me.
I at least like for guys to be 2 inches taller than I am. If I met a guy who was shorter than me but we clicked well, I suppose I would give it a shot.

My best friend is the same height as me and is approached constantly by shorter guys. She has dated guys that are about her height or shorter, but prefers guys that are taller.

My preference is 5'6'' to 5'9'', average weight, regardless of gender. I would choose short over too skinny.

Women, 5'6''-5'9'', are the hotness! When/if I decide to date men, I want them in the same range. Anything taller I find intimidating, anything shorter, is just not my taste.

No... I'm definitely 100% woman, straight, and i'm a member of a national service organization, not an NPHC organization... (Though we do operate very closely with one)
