It's gotta be "Salem's Lot." I was playing cards with some friends the night it was on tv. I made everyone move so I had my back to the tv. To this day, every time it's on tv, some smart azz will call me and say "Wanna play cards tonight?"

That's kinda the reaction most sane people have. It is seriously the most twisted movie EVER.

Mr. BSB and I were talking about this.
He remembered a story when he was in the 6th or 7th grade and a friend of his had a movie theatre party for his birthday. It was one of the first "boy/girl" events as pre-teens. Anyway, this kid throwing the party was extra cool because his dad owned the theatre. So, down they sit in their pre-teen glory to a special birthday screening of THE SHINING. Apparently this kid's dad hadn't seen it yet.
OMG, Mr. BSB said there were girls screaming everywhere and running out of the theatre when the hallway was filled with blood, etc. etc.
Needless to say, the movie party WASN'T a hit and none of the boys "scored".

I saw this one on my first date with my ex-husband. All night, I kept looking at this guy thinking "I really hope he's not psycho"

Yeah and you felt safe until you went to his apartment and met his poodle, "Precious", learned he had a butterfly collection, liked to sew and he always gave you nice hand lotion.

OMG, I can't believe I let that one slip! I am a dirty little girl... I guess that's what absence of husband does to my brain. It was still a great scary movie (to stay on topic).

I just saw this and it is quite disturbing. My daughter likes scary movies too but I wouldn't let her watch this one. I loved every minute of it though, lol.

I don't think gory/bloody movies are very scary.
I always though the Exorcist was pretty freaky though. Movies like that are pretty uncomfortable to watch.

I cannot watch scary movies. I can barely get through Scream and Scary Movie-- and those are parodies of horror movies!!!

even though they're cheesy I always have bad dreams after watching zombie movies. I also find particularly eerie the "what if" movies like the Omen.
