@ her signature Nothing ceases to amaze me on this board. Its funny yet pathetic. I never understood the sweetheart thing (minus the Iotas). I mean to walk around as a fraternity flunkie? Not a good look. Some of them also need to know their role and stay there because I have heard of many stories of sweethearts getting angry because they were not recognized by the fraternity at coming out shows and blatently disrespecting sorority members. I mean they are (and again, minus the Iotas) banned for a reason, correct?
I think the becoming a sweetheart as the gateway to joining a sorority assertion is totally false. At least now it is.
Yes please pass the popcorn and wings.
Steeltrap, a peach martini please

I've seen both sides of the sweetheart thing:
My auntie was a Kappa Diamond in her undergrad years and she really enjoyed being apart of the group. From what I understand they were not hazed, they did not pledge and by no means was this a stepping stone for them to get into a sorority. She was apart of the Kappa Diamonds because at the time she was engaged to my uncle who was a Kappa. She would help out at programs and events, and since she was always with my uncle she then joined a group with other young ladies who I believed were dating various members of Kappa Alpha Psi at that time and they all became apart of the Kappa Diamonds. This was before the 1990's when these various groups were banned. My auntie does not go around throwing up the KAY sign nor does she do the chants, calls, or what have you. She is very respectful to the sacredness and rituals of KAY. She doesnt brag to other people that she was a Kappa Diamond. She does not own any nalia (except an airbrushed t-shirt).
-However-
Now and days, I have seen some ladies who claim to be apart of these various auxillaries, which by the way technically do not exist and think that they are in a sorority or apart of Greek Life. I have also seen some ladies who act like Fraternity groupies and puppets. In this day, I don't think these groups are necessary and they seem a bit silly to me.

Yeah, I got some more popcorn. I also have some chips and salsa, and regular potato chips. Do you like sour cream and onion? I also have some Fritos.
Since ST is doing drinks, I'll have a strawberry dacquri. And when's the show going to start?
