$25 to the Humane Society. My local radio station is doing a 36 hour "flush the format" telethon where people can donate and get anything they want played. After just 8 hours, they had $250,000. Their goal is $1 mil, which is a dollar for every person they reach in their audience. The $ is being split between the Red Cross and the Salvation Army.

Also, if you are on other boards, perhaps we should copy the contact lists/charities that other people have listed (added Noah's wish and the matching link to a post on another board I'm on). I'm on 4 other boards that have 3000+ registered users...people have been receptive! Great job GCr's

I gave $10 each to the Red Cross and the Humane Society. I wish I could have given more.

I donated $50.00 to them yesterday. Now I'll be talking to my boss about donating too b/c she has piles of $$$ & can afford to do. Those poor animals.

We donated to the Red Cross through our credit union because they are matching donations for the hurricane relief effort.

Well I've donated $50

25 to the Humane Society
25 to the Red Cross

There is also another link that people may want to take a look at:

Network for Good

They have several places that you may want to donate to and a lot about the animal rescue relief.

I was waiting for the corporation I work for to make their official statement that they will match our funds. They don't do so typically, but did it after the tsunami and I figured they would do it again now. They are also emphasizing that blood is really needed badly. Please donate blood.

So, I'm donating $50 to the Red Cross on Monday when the boxes at work go up and they will match it, so make it $100.

I didn't win the Mega Millions lottery last night or else it would have been a lot more (but it's up to $150 mil for Tuesday). I was planning on at least half of my winnings going to hurricane relief.

They are also asking for health care volunteers to go down. They will receive their usual pay from our health care system while down there. Additionally, they are sending medications and health care supplies.

I just found out that the Tribune will donate $2 for every $1 donated by employees to nonprofit organizations, up to $500/year per employee!!! I downloaded the matching gifts form and will be sending a couple donations, which will now be even nicer donations.

Thumbs up

All Lone Star Steakhouse, Sullivan's Steak House, Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse and Texas Land & Cattle Steakhouse locations will donate 100% of the day's sales this Labor Day to the Red Cross Disaster Relief fund.

I know where I will be eating this Monday.

As noted in another thread, my employer set up a way for us to donate through payroll deduction. Therefore, I have donated $15 per pay period for the next 8 pay periods for a total of $120. They are matching contributions up to $50,000.00 in addition to having sent health care volunteers down and donating medical supplies.

I'm broke too. But as soon as Friday (payday) rolls around, I'll be donating to the Humane Society and our local SPCA, who just took in over 50 "refugee" dogs from LA.
