Did she have an advice column in Cosmo/Glamour/Elle a couple of years ago?

Lol, there are certainly reasons for termination of undergraduate membership, including grades, money and other things that you can read about in your Norman Shield or COHB.

I'm not sure so much of procedures for alumnae.

How long has it been since you read your COHB? No offense, but they have inactive status for ladies that "can't pay," and you have to have FOUR STRAIGHT semesters of low grades before KD "forces" someone to leave (most likely, they will have to leave the school before they leave KD). In the event that a sister can't pay, KD also does not force them to leave, the sister has to leave on her own volition.

About the alum status--still have no idea about that. I've never heard of an alum KD being ousted.

My fault... Sorry. Anyway, she was kicked out of her GLO (Pi BETA Phi - Thanks, kathykd2005) for writing some uncomplimentary material about it. She reprinted the letter from the organization. I didn't think that was either necessary or in good taste. If she had wanted to say she was kicked out, fine, but posting the letter...Come on!

Not all that long, actually. There are circumstances where a member's membership in KD will be terminated, also under certain standards issues. But this isn't really the best place for these things to be dicussed. But a blanket statement that Kappa Delta won't terminate undergraduate memberships isn't true.

You're right, under extreme circumstances, they might, but there is no set procedure that is listed in the Norman Shield, nor have I ever heard of any one being "kicked out." Love in AOT

I know of an alumna of ADPi whose membership was cancelled, but when she set matters straight, it was reinstated. She proceeded to do the same thing once more, and this time, her membership was cancelled permanently. It was a monumental offense, one that no one could ignore.

I think it was the fact that the private information was not viewed as being particularly favorable to her GLO. (Trying to get an older woman's driver's license to drink....) My guess is that if she had something that had gone on inside the house that was FAVORABLE to the organization, she wouldn't have been removed.

You're very bright ("Clever Girl!" - term used for Agent O'Mally in Night Sins). You're either a history/current events enthusiast, or you're old enough to remember the sordid mess. Or both.

But Pi Phi *IS* Pi Beta Phi -- the nickname, that is.
I'm confused.
Kinda like how Gamma Phi is Gamma Phi Beta, Theta is Kappa Alpha Theta, etc.

Yes, I stand corrected--this is the nickname for Pi Beta Phi, and it was E. Jean Carroll who was removed. I had no idea it had that nick name! Thanks!!! (Sorry about that!)
