It's funny that you mention about not finding a body. We were saying at work, that if every travel agent that's losing money right now went down to scour the 96 square mile island, she'd be found immediately. Unless, of course, she ended up in the water.

It's terribly interesting that the two brothers and the one Dutch guy are turning on each other. As Natalee's mother said, they all know what happened; I don't know how their judicial system works, but if someone in authority can make a deal with one of the brothers, this case could break.

Call me callous, but this wouldn't stop me from going to Aruba.

Me neither. It's not Aruba's fault.

Show me an island where Americans visit and I'll show you another island filled with "douche tourists". It's an island; nothing gets there unless you take it with you.

Edit: I'd love to go back.

It's not an American thing, but just a vacation place that I would say is "flippant" (but that's just me ya know) and probably a good place to lay on a beach and party.

FWIW, I was somewhat echoing what a travel agent friend of mine said - there have been a LOT of cancellations to Aruba, if you can believe her.

It wouldn't really change my own attitude, if I was planning to go, but then again, I'm not an 18-year-old who thinks I'm invincible.

I can't find this on a lot of the news organizations, but Aruba Cops Search Dutch Suspect Joran Van Der Sloot's Home . They're wearing special suits, booties, gloves, etc, and seem to be collecting trace evidence. There's talk about Roofies, but they'd have a hard time proving it until they find her body (assuming that she's dead).

"ORANJESTAD, Aruba — Authorities on Wednesday began searching the home of Joran Van Der Sloot (search), the 17-year-old son of a Dutch official who was one of the last known people to see a missing Alabama girl alive.

The search comes as sources told FOX News that authorities had Van Der Sloot and two other men under surveillance following their initial release from police custody after Natalee Holloway's disappearance. The three were later detained a second time and remain in custody.

Also, sources said that authorities are looking into the possibility that some kind of a so-called "date rape" drug was used on Holloway. Police intend to question some of Van Der Sloot's friends to see if they have any information about this, sources told FOX News.

House Searched

Two police officers walked through the one-story, yellow-beige Van Der Sloot home, while others guarded the entranceway. A blue sport utility vehicle and a red Jeep were also towed from the property

Officers on the scene would not comment, and police spokesman Edwin Comemencia said he had no information.

Van Der Sloot is an honors student at Aruba International School and the son of a wealthy judge on the Dutch Caribbean island. He and two older friends have admitted leaving a club with Natalee Holloway on the night she vanished, but their accounts of what happened later differ."

Unhappy

Please do not forget the Girl from U. Ks. who went to Costa Rica and didnt come back

Anything can happen anywhere. Do not ever forget that.

I think that American Law Enforcement can be the best and some Countrys can be suspect.

So, that being said, in water, it goes out and comes in. It does depend on the Tides. Bodies do Float after a time.

How big a hole does it take to put someone in?

If I had already made plans to go, I might change them, but ONLY because it's a little crazy over there right now. It seems the whole place is preoccupied with this case. I just wouldn't want to be there right now in the middle of the whoppla.

True. I just don't think Aruba is any less safe than it was a month ago.

This is, of course, another reason to buy additional travel insurance or to book your travel using the trusty AMEX. The travel insurance I bought for my Thailand/Cambodia/Laos trip would have covered cancellation and ticket changes because of the tsunami. We, after getting the all-clear from family members at the Dept. of State, decided to go.

Surprisingly enough, I'm not an 18 year old who considers herself invincible either! I haven't been 18 since Monica Lewinsky went down on Bill Clinton. I'm just an experienced traveler (with the additional passport pages to prove it!) who is just as careful in my neighborhood in New York as I am anywhere else on the globe.

But, what do I know?

A foot-long blonde hair, stuck in duct tape, has been found in Aruba and is thought to be Natalee's: story

The television news was saying that it could have washed up with Hurricane Emily going through; also, there is a supposed "grave site" nearby.
