Oprah, you should release this on DVD, the uncut version.
Yes, Yes, Yes. I boohooed through most of the show.

Ladies, I have never been so touched by something that I was not physically apart of such as this. Amazing is all I can say. I had no idea how profound this event would be. If this touched us so through our television screens IMAGINE what that must have felt like in person. God bless Oprah for honouring these women while they lived & breathed. Beautiful.

That was simply WONDERFUL! Oprah should be applauded for her vision to honor our sheroes in the manner that she did. It was so touching to watch. Can you imagine what it must have been like to be there?!

I noticed that. It first came to my mind when we met Colin. The only behind the scenes Black person I saw was the photographer.

Maria Shriver, no one was going to pass you the mic. Trust. You see no one gave Ashanti the mic. It was painful enough to listen to her interviews.

Overall, the most tremendous display of African American giants I have ever witnessed.

Do you think that was intentional in a positive or negative way? Negative in the sense of not wanting to give minorities jobs or positive like the scene from Forrest Gump where Bubba's mother received her $ from Forrest and decides to get a white servant because she no longer wanted to work in anyone's kitchen.

I think it was intentionally positive and I don't see anything wrong with it.

I agree, Paradise. I could feel the love and respect flowing through my TV a year later.

To see US like that in all of our magnificence

I just looked at it as she's black just like me and it kinda reminded me of something my aunt might do. I think she was just being herself.

Intentional and Positive. Very positive! Your FG analogy is on point!

It also reminds me of the scene in Boomerang where Strange' enters the building with her white slaves carrying her @ an event.

Thumbs up

I'll be the first man to chime in. I was moved. Still speechless. I shed a tear. Yeah I said it.

Ditto to everything that's been said. I've been inspired to put together my own Legends event. The women in my life who have touched me may not be celebrities, but their love and commitment to sisterhood have impacted me just the same. Oh, and I cried my eyes out, too.

I would've picked boogers out of Cicely Tyson's nose just to be there.

I must admit I wasn't sure about the event when I saw the previews and advertisements, but sitting there watching it was absolutely beautiful! It brought tears to my eyes. It was very well done and not too over the top. I could have watched more, but I thought the one hour length kept it classy.
