You're obviously more sensitive about such topics than I am. You completely ignored the logic of my post and the fact that what I typed wasn't too far away from what YOU typed to share your personal opinion of my participation.
Get a grip and get over it.

Not necessarily, because we don't know enough about that "context" to place it. It's quite possible that this coach has never ever used the n-word before this incident. It's possible that he treats all his players the same and never uses racial slurs outside of this. But it's also possible that these particular players simply weren't bothered by his use of racial slurs, or that they were but thought he was a good enough coach that they didn't mind, or maybe he only used racial slurs around his white players but not his black ones, or maybe the university is paying these kids to shut up about the fact that they were annoyed by his racism, or maybe the coach has a secret black wife and secret black children like Strom Thurmond! --
we just don't know.
What we do know is that he used the n-word in a situation where it was quoted in the media, and people were offended, and anybody who is familiar with the sports industry knows that that will get you into some trouble. The issue of race in the sports industry is just too volatile and has been for YEARS -- you can't get away with things like this, and every smart coach knows that.

There is no point in reasoning with idiots, Phasad.

Anger management courses are available in Texas I presume?
But again, you can avoid my points by saying "[I] don't like what [you] said" and "who cares".

This was a good, non-combative thread at first.
But as Earth,Wind, and Fire would say "something happened along the way."

The term "honkey" does not have the same HISTORICAL CONTEXT as the n-word. Nor can Chris Rock be compared to this coach because honkey and the n-word are not comparable terms, and because of HISTORICAL CONTEXT, a black man using these terms is a very different thing than a white man using them.
Not to mention the argument about "support from black team members" is specious at best. So not every single black person in the whole world is offended by this? Great. That doesn't make it not racist. You cannot be in the sports business and use the n-word -- there have been far, far too many incidents over the years in the professional/college sports industry that have demonstrated that this will get you into trouble. People have been fined or fired for far less. If you're too stupid to have figured out that it's a bad idea to use the n-word when you might get quoted in the newspaper, you don't deserve to be employed.

H*** Yea Sugar and Spice!!!!!!
Give 'em the "whatfor"!!!!!!!
*Oops I just used the "h" word *
I'm back now that I see DSTCHAOS has handled that business and "Squeek" has now slide across the floor into the lake with her puppy.

Yeah it's great that you're participating in this discussion after playing the race card because I said I wanted half-naked black chicks in the background of my dance video.

Since whites, in particular, tend to get hung up on the "slur double standard," suffice it to say that I don't think anyone should use racial slurs. However, I don't think it is ANYONE'S right to tell blacks or anyone else what they can call THEMSELVES and EACH OTHER. There are blacks who don't think even blacks should use the "n" word. That still doesn't give nonblacks the right to be so "confused" over its use that they start to use it.
If whites wanted to go around calling each other "h*****," that's their business and I won't be like "well, would you get offended if I said it?" Why the hell would I WANT to say it? Do I NEED to say it?
I think we've already established that the coach was an inappropriate idiot but we can't CLAIM that he was racist. That's all this thread should really accomplish because the "n" word debate, in my opinion, is not to be had with the GC masses.

Which h word? There are quite a few words that start with the letter "h".
