The closest subway station is Spadina on the Bloor-Danforth line.
From Union, take the University line up to St. George and then go downstairs to the Bloor trains one station west to Spadina.
Alternatively, you can get on the Yonge trains, go up to the Bloor-Yonge station, and change to the Bloor-Danforth line and take the train west to Spadina.
(If you want, you could also walk from St. George to Madison. It isn't really far )

Any of you guys from the NW Ontario area? I highly doubt it, afterall there are more moose and bear than people in that area! Anyway, 7 of us (5 Beta's) do an annual fishing trip to the Sioux Lookout area....we'll be there the end of June. You'll know who we are if you see us.

Actually, the easiest way to get to Spadina from union is to take the University line up to Spadina from Union. you actually won't have to transfer lines.

Holy crap you guys like to go far north huh?
- for the Americans, Sioux Lookout is about as far from Toronto as Washington DC is to Detroit

There are different routes or "lines" for the TTC. There's the Bloor-Danforth line, The University-Spadina line, the Yonge line, The Sheppard line, and the Scarborogh RT line.
Don't worry. It's pretty easy to get around on the TTC. You'll see the side of the platform at Union station that will tell you it's the University line and will take you to St. George station. I wouldn't get off there, but get off at the next stop (that's Spadina)

Spadina/University is the other North-South line (well other than Yonge)

Yeah, I guess its kinda far north - I mean, we could go further!?!?! We travel about 13 hours one way, we leave WI at about 6:00 am and arrive about 7:00 PM...set up camp, crack some cold ones, chase some bear...you know, standard Canadian stuff, eh?
Later.

Yay! It's tomorrow.
I feel like such a Toronto n00b. Really. I printed off maps and circled where the subway stops are.
taualumna, I make no promises you won't get a frantic phone call from me crying "omg, I'm so lost and it's getting dark out and the wolves are after me!"
I joke. I joke. I'll be fine. .... i hope ....

MooseGirl,
Are you coming by TTC? I think you should allow an hour or so to get from the zoo to Spadina station.
Hope this helps!
See you tomorrow!

When i went to my friend's hotel room to pick up my stuff, her friend, i.e. her very wealthy and generous friend, asked us out to dinner. i thought i'd still be able to make it but I guess i took to olong savouring my veal chop.
anyway, I had a good time with them and I hope you all had a good time too!
