Is that the movie with the woman who lost her house and she tormented the new occupant? I heard it was horrible.

Oh, Drop Squad. Man, I had a list of people I wanted to drop! That came out in '94 during my militant days...whew!

Re: House of Sand and Fog - I read the book first and couldn't wait to see the movie. I was a bit disappointed. It was watchable (at home in the comfort of my bed), but it didn't do justice to the book. One of my Iranian friends was pretty offended by the book and the movie, so that challenged me to watch it from a different perspective. If you're interested in the story, I'd suggest the book over the movie.

I still know a bunch of folks, some on GC, that I would LOVE to drop, lol.

I saw it way back in '93 or '94 and only one or two scenes out of the whole movie. I fell asleep during the flick (it was very late).

Requiem for a Dream

Mulholland Drive - Saw it, think I loved it, but can't quite comment on it yet.
Ok, so this was my first Netflix movie last night. I liked it, cuz I like movies like this (that cause headaches, lol). And it made me feel all sorts of crazy. But you know what else? The mother's part was THE most disturbing to me. I felt the same way about her part as I did about some of the stuff (the blue box and the play) in Mulholland Drive: it scared me. There is something about the colors in the film during those parts; they are too vivid or something cuz the rest of the movie is so dark. They freak me out and make me glad I have roommates. Sometimes stuff like this scares me far more than actual horror movies. *shivers*

Anyway, it was really good. If I had seen this while I worked at the school, I would've definitely shown it to my girls. I'm going to have my friend show it.

I love Netflix.
