Did anyone else notice that last night we finally found out why Weaver needs the crutch? Congenital Hip Dysplasia. I believe this is the first time the writers ever told us her need for it.
I loved the last line to her mother also.
I don't like how they seemed to throw together Neela's crush on Kovach. One week it is there, then this week it isn't. Consistency, please!

YES!! I noticed that too...I was honestly surprised they broached this as I remember an interview I read with Laura Innes (an AXO alum BTW!!) who said that they didn't want to make it an issue on the show, which is why it was never discussed. They just wanted to make it part of her character...nothing more...
But if they were going to disclose it, then they did it at a very appropriate time!
I also liked that last line to her mother...

Is anyone else watching ER tonight?
I think they've outdone themselves - my heart is in my throat over the poor woman who's had the stroke!

WOW!!
Between the woman with the stroke, and the children hiding their mother, I am just... dumbstruck!
It's almost like an episode that everyone should see, at least the part about the woman with the stroke. The fact that she was only 35 was SO poignant!!

If "ER" does not get some Emmys this year, heads will roll!

I always liked him! AND, if I remember, there was some nice sexual tension between him & Neela!
Smiley, I agree. I have this feeling that it will be ignored, but this season has been outstanding!

I knew that once HAWAI`I was cancelled, it would only be a matter of time before Lt. Gallant found his way back to Chicago!

I got a charge out of this episode too.
Two comments:
M*A*S*H did this type of show back in the late (?) 1970s, showing the journey of a soldier wounded in the neck on the battlefield and how his care proceeded through the hospital unit. ER expanded on this, showing the woman's thoughts as well.
The 11 o'clock news here in Atlanta did a story on how the technique and device used in the show was approved by the FDA about 6 months ago and is being employed at Emory.

Last night's episode was excellent. I hope I never have to experience it. I almost cried when she just looked at her husband, trying to send him the answer to do the procedure.
There must be another ER thread, b/c I know I've posted before that I just love what they're doing with Abby's character this season. I'm so glad that she and Jake got together (he is so cute!) and I like Dr. DeBanco's wittiness and think it's so cute how he's taken to her as well.
