DG at Arizona State always has snobby bid day shirts. Fall 2003 said: IT IS BETTER TO BE ENVIED THEN PITIED. Thta one really ticked off a lot of people.

"Every man's dream, every woman's fantasy" and "Phi Delt (or whoever) Knows Your Girlfriend" were popular when I was in school.
Also, "If you're going to buy your friends, why not buy the best?" - I think someone already said that one here.

Re: T-Shirt Slogan Question

What do you think?

We (our team not just our house) did that for our Greek Week shirts and well we won so hope everyone does get well soon. (sorry that was dumb but im going crazy with finals and all)

The shirt saying, " I'm a XYZ" "And you're Not!" <----straight up RUDE A** shirt! I could never wear anything like that!! No wonder GDI's and other's think Greeks are stuck up! I'd think those stereotypes too if someone was walking around with that shirt on!
I know it's all cracks and giggles but I think a larger percent wouldn't see it that way........just my opinion!

These three slogans stick out in my mind. The first was for the fraternity's bid day. The shirt has a John Deere logo and says, "Pulling hoes since 1869" Another was, "Make your mom proud...sleep with an XYZ." The other shirt was for a party, and it said, "Hold my beer while I kiss your girlfriend." Many women on our campus were offended by the first two slogans.

One of the sororities at my campus (not us) had this shirt for last fall's bid day with a picture of a little girl making a face and sticking her tongue out. We all thought it was such a catty shirt.

I guess I don't see why all the catty slogans (like the ones involving jealousy, exclusion, veiled insults to other groups, etc.) can't be reserved for some kind of private enjoyment. Every group has private meetings, closed sisterhood events, etc...chant the slogans and wear the shirts there if you must. What is accomplished by wearing them in public? IMHO it diminishes the bragging group, not the target group. If I saw a group of women out in public wearing shirts expressing the idea that "You Weren't Invited" or "You Envy Us", I'd immediately conclude that they were a bunch of stuck-up beeyotches with absolutely no class. Why would you want to give that impression?

A cuter (nicer!) spin on those "If You Weren't Here, You Weren't Invited" Bid Day shirts. Many sororities at my school had some version of a Draft party (Arrest Party, Mug-A-Man, Draft-A-Date, Grab-A-Guy, what have you). A cute slogan for that one - "If you weren't drafted, you got shafted!"
I'd keep the snarky Bid Day shirts to myself...no need to wear them all over campus and look snotty. I don't think it's oversensitive to say there probably are more than a few PNM's whose feelings would be hurt, especially if they DO envy you for being an XYZ. No need to rub it in - you love your GLO, and that should be enough!

We've had the john deere shirt at our school that says getting plowed and pulling hoes since 1899 and girls absolutely love them. 2 of them got stolen from our presidents room at party by girls who wanted them. I don't know we've had a pretty blunt rush shirt that alot of peple actually liked the front just had TKE and our chapter designation and the back said "DOn't be a P*ssy Rush TKE!" not many people seemed to be offended surprisingly.
We also did the UPS shirt here just the back said "Professional Box handlers since 1899" those seem to be a big hit also.

this past falls bid day shirt at
my old chapter had a harley davidson theme......on the front pocket is the h/d logo. at the top it says"fsu" ,across the middle it says "zeta tau alpha" and at the bottom it says "2003". on the back is a large picture of an eagle with wings colored like the american flag. above the eagle in large letters is "hang on", and underneath the eagle is "for the ride of your life." the eagle appears to be perched on a harley davidson logo which has "zta" at the top, and "2003" at the bottom. across the middle it says "bid day." my friend, the membership vp, designed it. her dad has a harley and when she is at home the always go for rides on it.

I wanted to unearth this thread....
It seems like our campus is known for having snotty t-shirts and i hate to admit we take part in it....
our shirts this year were "Alpha Phi" and on the back said "Obviously." A fraternity chapter on campus had shirts that said (ewwwww) "ABC - tighter than your little sister. and on the back it had a cartoon little girl in a little dress licking a lollipop! yeah that one didn't last long....
Another fraternity had "RUSH ABC - You'll like it better on top" and had a picture of a naked girl actually ON TOP OF A GUY LAYING DOWN!!!
A chapter of ours up at George Mason had been Greek Week Champs for like 10 years and then lost one year, well they regained the title the following year and their shirts said, "Don't Call It a Comeback....We've Been Here For Years" like the LL Cool J song....thought it was cute.
As much drama is going on on our campus between all the chapters, I have a feeling the shirts are only going to get worse
