Yall have said it all.... I saw sooo much disturbing chit...
(1) Destiny's Chirren : Why oh why have they not fired Beyonce's mom? Why is she STILL making their costumes? Could she not be more creative than sheers? K-Mart Blue Light specials....

(2) Devante and dem : What was that fur thing he was carrying? What do you think was in it? Somebody give him some relief, he had some kind of itch thing going on... His hair???

(3) Steve and Ced : Where were the collars to any of their suits? WTF was Ced thinking when he pimped out there with that pink mess on?

(4) Usher : What's up with the one-man choreographed show? Did yall see the handstand? What was that all about?

(5) JILL SCOTT : She got no props... WTF?

(6) Patti : REPRESENTIN AT 60+.... Lawd please lemme look that good!

Just some more observations:

Why when people spoke, did I feel like I was watching a cheap Chinese martial arts movie?

Why, for like the first hour, did everyone (including background rappers like Natedog) lip sync?

Who let Traci Bingham in?

Despite songs w/ potential, Usher and Sisqo are tired. Why do they, and Genuine, insist on believing they are the next Michael Jackson?

Why when rappers perform (Jay Z), do some 30-40 other rappers (none which we know) end up on stage, all of which are said to currently be in the studio with albums dropping in 2002, 2003...?

Why is DC everywhere and what do they want from us?

Bobby Brown: R&B king???

Mary J and Devante looked a complete mess.

Best of the best: Donnie and Patti, Christina and Luther's Whitney tribute, and Outkast.

Ok, now I'm starting to get mad!

I think while my ex was flippin back and forth between channels during commercials (why do men always do that???), I must have missed some stuff!!!! When did Ced have on a pink suit????????????????? I thought they had on the tuxes all night!!

About the fur thing, we said it was a squirrel!! LMAO!

Thank you, thank you,thank you! I didn't view yesterday's awards. Now, thanks to these pictures and everyone's commentary, I feel as if I had viewed the show. I know that my fellow GChatters weren't expecting to see a class act, as these shows rarely are such. If I were able to view the show, I would have done so anticipating much comedy from my peoples! They are a trip ya'll!

Why oh why did Beyonce and Chilrren have on those sequined/meshed/asymmertical gowns? Who told them that they were cute?

Why oh why did Devante embarrass the hell outta Jodeci by doing the following:
*not combing his "hair"-that dried out,jheri curled, half cut mess on his head was ridiculous
*wearing those white "WANTED" moonboots? (For you ladies that don't know, WANTED are shoes that you only find in low-budget shoe stores)
*that fur pouch-WTF??

Why oh why did none of Jay-Z's crew wanna show love to Devante? They all tried to steer clear from his path, but he made it his mission to hug every guy that came on stage.

I was so mad, I went to sleep after Patti performed-that's my girl!

Ok....now I was looking at BET.com yesterday and they listed the categories/nominations, and I could have sworn they had categories for:

Best Male/Female Athelete

Best Actress/Actor

etc, etc,.....

Did a sista miss all that....is that not part of Black Entertainment too

I am not even going to comment on Whitney SO DRAMATIC Houston (Bobby Brown is the R&B King and we should thank him for giving us her?

) or the new thugged out K-CI and JO-JO

Nelly (among others) still needs dental work

Chris Tucker- he's too cute

I loved Snoop (and dem's), Outkast's, and Christina Aguilera's performances and Eve with the 76er's jersey in Shaq's face was classic

and of course P A T T I......she looked GREAT

Nope, you're right, it was live. (Did yall watch the pre-show? Free and AJ were making some mistakes, lol, and they blamed them on the show being live, LOL)

Maybe the lips were off due to transmission time. If we were seeing it live (via satellite?), then the image will come before the sound. Right? I really just thought of this, but last night, I was ticked about that!!! LOL!

Wasn't the show pre-empted with BET Tonight because it ran too long? I assume those awards were presented after that.

while i was over here laughing at some of the stuff that many of you had posted...there was a moment when the ish just stopped being funny.
all i could do is shake my head and think...
"black folx can't do ish right!"
and Viacom allowed us to see how we can be more than ignorant. Black folx showed their asses last night...*with some notable exceptions i read*
other than that...its obvious that BET will after a fiasco such as this...*among other sad issues with BET...it has always been bootleg*
Eventually...i can definitely see Viacom making BET into Urban MTV or MTV Soul. Just as VH1 has an all Urban/Soul network and so does STARZ (BET/STARZ).
Its very distressing that we, as black people, continue to show ourselves as modern day minstrels. Spike Lee had it right on in Bamboozled.

I said it and here is my proof: All right call me bored, call me obsessed with the truth but I have a stack of old Ebonys, one featuring Ms. Whitney on the cover and it is the Dec. 1998 issue. Quoting from page 162, " She also says that Bobby is a good and loving father to their daughter, Bobbi Kristina, and also to his other 3 children, ages 13, 9 and 6." Now in this same article BK is 5 and Whitney and Bobby were married for like 2 years before little BK was born soooooooooo Bobby was stepping out on WHIT.
