I think it is possible. Most of my close friends are male. I will admit that there have been a few that have approached the idea of being more than friends but I have been able to remain friends with them even though they have confessed feelings.

All of my guy friends are former boyfriends, or flings... and any guy friends that aren't former relationships have confessed feelings to me at one time or another.

So the theory works for me, while it might not work for others.

Its just saying that sexual attraction may form the basis of our male female friendships also . . to one degree or another.

All of my female friends in the past were attractive to me. And those unattractive to me didn't become my friends.

James,
you sound like my brother. he said that he has no unattractive female friends. i was amazed at that, but i guess he's not the only one.

I don't have unattractive male friends - why surround yourself with people you don't enjoy looking at?

I have to say, whenever a guy and a girl hang out a lot, everyone sort of assumes they're a couple. For instance, one of my best friends is a guy, and we're always together......I don't know how many people have been teasing us about that.
