Aww, that is so great. Then let me amend my statement- congratulations to Clark, Sigma Chi, and YOU! it's so great when legacy or almost-legacy houses are also a fantastic personal fit. Your nephew is lucky to have you... And he'll feel that even more when he sees you at initiation!!

Come hell or high water, I will be at his initiation. I plan on finding out from the pledge trainer when it is, telling Clark that I can't make it, and then surprising him by showing up.
That will be a great surprise for Clark! (Hope he doesn't read GC LOL)

So I am seriously 1 proud, happy uncle and member of Sigma Chi.

I am SO happy for you and your nephew! And I might just have a little clue as to exactly how proud and happy you are . . .

I'll include the code. Remember, Clark thought that all of the groups had something going for them.

Justice League - Delta Chi

Justice Society - Lambda Chi Alpha

Legion of Super Heroes - Pi Kappa Alpha

Outsiders - Sigma Nu

X-men - Sigma Phi Epsilon

Avengers - Sigma Tau Gamma

Defenders - Theta Xi

The group that has colonized at the campus is Alpha Gamma Rho. Clark has spent a lot of summers on our family's farm. He really enjoys being there. He and I (and I should have known better) were under the impression that you have to be majoring or minoring in some sort of Agricultural degree, so we thought he wasn't eligible. Only after talking to the Ag teacher on my campus (an AGR alumn), did I find out that not all AGR chapters require the Ag department major.

But, that's okay, because Clark really liked Sigma Chi from the outset. Of course, hearing about it all his life from his uncle didn't hurt.

LaneSig, you sound like such a cool and supportive uncle! I know you're very proud of your nephew, and I'm sure he'll love your surprising him at initiation. Congratulations to you both!

P.S. I, too, hope he doesn't read GC!

WELL - on the one hand, I was referencing when my brother pledged Sigma Chi (the chapter my then-husband founded and for which I received my badge replica from the Grand Praetor. )

On the other . . .

Not yet, not yet - but in time . . . (2012) I should have some good news.

Soon “Clark” will be able to call you “Brother Uncle”.

"My Name Is Sigma Chi, Sir"
