Wow, I had no idea! That's crazy considering there's barely been any Greeks on the show and in the first season, in which there were only 10 contests, two were from the same GLO!

Ren needed to go. She obviously didn't want to be there (I recall her saying something like "modeling is my mom's dream for me.")
It sucks a little because her spot on the show could've gone to someone who wanted it.
And really, there is hostility in all areas of the modeling industry. Not just Top Model.

I believe Katarzhyna from C10 was in a sorority at Cornell (not sure which one), and Lauren Brie from C11 is an ASA. I think there are probably more Greeks, they just don't mention it or wear symbols.

^^Given the ANTM demographic, that photo shoot was very "now" with a few notches knocked off the cheese factor. Thought it did look a bit like a romance novel cover shoot minus lingerie.
Holy fake-outs, Tyra! Based on the final comments, I did NOT expect elimination to go that way.

I actually thought it was kinda cool. They could have taken it cheesy, but I don't think they did. Especially with the blindness thing.
This was one of those weeks that confused me, though, because 90% of the girls, Jay was saying "gorgeous, genius, beautiful", but only about half of them ended up with good pictures.

Anslee definitely got the death edit, so I thought for sure she'd be going home (especially since we didn't hear much from Simone). Brenda really annoys me when she talks. Her crying over the contacts was ridiculous. I like Alexandra and, as much as it pains me to say it, Alaysia has taken some great pictures (as well as some terrible ones).

Alaysia, while she has taken some nice pictures, her attitude stinks! I don't blame Anslee one bit for jumping and defending herself. It was completely uncalled for Alaysia to claim that Anslee is a bad mom. Alaysia's problem is that she just doesn't know when to shut her mouth.
We all know Alaysia won't win in the end. I'm sure the judges "know" what is going on in the house and Tyra or CG won't want Alaysia and her attitude representing them.
I bet they knew that Alaysia would be a "witch" and they picked her for the drama.

Alayshia just seems very immature to me, hopefully, she'll learn as she gets older that lashing out like that isn't going to help her out any.
I thought the vampire thing was cheesy, but interesting. Some girls just seem so much more natural in front of the camera, and seeing the girls having to work with the tub, the blood and the male model was interesting to watch.
I liked the times square commercial challenge. Talk about having to get over your nerves quickly! Knowing that all those people were watching would kind of freak me out.

Okay, maybe I missed something, but I never heard Alaysia say that. I heard Alaysia say "You don't talk to people like that. What do you teach your daughter?" Bratty and uncalled for, yes (bringing up the baby is ALWAYS below the belt), but definitely not the same as "You're a bad mom."
And seriously, although she was totally out of line whatever she said because you never bring up someone's child, I don't see why the argument continued. Alaysia calmly (as calm as Alaysia gets) told Anslee her tone was unnecessary then even walked away. That was 2 chances Anslee had to squash the whole thing and she kept picking at her instead. For as much as she says other girls need to grow up the way she had to.....

But we need to look at it from Anslee's point of view. From her standpoint, what Alaysia said was criticizing how she (Anslee) was raising her daughter. Plus, remember this is not the first time someone (wasn't it Anslee?) had an issue with. Alaysia just doesn't know when to keep her mouth shut. I understand that she is young, 18, but I'm sorry you know better by that age.
I don't blame Anslee one bit for getting as upset as she did. One thing we have to remember is Alaysia could have totally dissed Anslee as a mom but the editors cut it and just showed what Alaysia said and then Anslee's reaction.
Alaysia is the "child" here, not Anslee. Alaysia is the one who doesn't know how to keep her mouth shut and the other girls are reacting to it. Alaysia has obviously been raised that it's okay to "talk back" to others. I see it with 4 year olds, whose parents allow their child to talk back to them, hence they do it at daycare and they will continue to do it throughout their life because their parents won't take a stand and tell them "no we don't treat people and talk to people this way". Alaysia's behaviors are completely learned behaviors.

First, I would like to say thank you to those who post in east coast time without giving away major spoilers... If I'm lucky enough to watch on the night it airs, I'm guaranteed to be at least three hours behind.
On the episode- I actually liked the vampire thing. I think they could've taken it WAY cheesy and they didn't. Probably not my favorite photo shoot ever, but it didn't bother me. And considering one of the primary demographics, they were spot on considering all the Twihards out there.
I agree with you AlphaFrog- Jay kept fawning over most of the shoots, yet the photos didn't match up. Kind of makes you wonder if the photos just weren't translating after the shoot, or how they choose photos.
The challenge in Times Square was really cool- one shot, one take, live, no memorization... no crutches to fall on here. You either do it or you don't. Oh wait, unless you can't hear the instructions yet don't ask for clarification. The challenges seem to be pretty good this season- sometimes they are way over the top but these seem a little more practical to modeling. Hopefully that continues.
I vote for getting rid of the drama queens- Alaysia is #1 (darn her decent photos) and Brenda is #2 in my book for being annoying. Anslee comes in at #3. Seriously... let's focus on the modeling and not crazy drama. We can watch the Real World for that (and I don't, for that reason).

Alasia - love her hair and look, but she grated on me the first day when she did that falling down thing when Tyra walked in. Her immaturity stands in the way. This week's pic was great.
Anslee - pretty, but not model material to me. She acts like she's "too old" for everyone. Sure, at 23, she is older than most of them, but you don't have to ACT like you're the mom. She doesn't have anything striking about her, which I think is important for a model. There needs to be something special about either your look or your walk/pose/movement. I'm not sure I've seen that yet.
Brenda was/is really stiff, though she did loosen up a bit after the new 'do. She needs to LET GO of the hair issue (if she wants to be a model). I know how terrifying it is to have your hair chopped, but in that line of work, your body/hair/face doesn't belong to you - it belongs to the client. It's not for the faint of heart.
I loved the outdoor challenge. I've done Improv before and it requires totally letting go of everything else and being in the moment. I thought that Tatiana was really open to the whole experience and she deserved to win. Funny, I didn't think too much of Tatiana in the beginning. It's like I'm just discovering her.
Simone is cute but so very, very careful. Her pageant experience doesn't allow her to let go.
Angelea - still don't like her. She takes some nice pictures, but I can't get past her attitude. Is it me or does her hair just look ratty (look at the photo of her on the Times Square Trinitron)? She seems to be acting less aggressive, though I think she needs to develop some self-awareness if she is to continue much further in the competition. This week's picture was weak. She looked so disengaged.
Alexandra takes some nice pics. Most of the time, I don't see the "plus size" (versus with Whitney from seasons past, it was evident and talked about in every shoot). However, she sometimes seems lost.
Krista - I'm still on the fence. When she gets it, SHE GETS IT. She just needs to be more consistent and follow through. But her cheekbones and her skin are AMAZING.
Sweet, sweet Jessica. Prom queen, yes. Catalog model? Definitely. High fashion? I haven't seen it yet.
My favorite this season is Raina. Once I got past the Denise Richards thing, I realized that she GETS IT. She's naturally gorgeous, but she doesn't rely on her looks (which she can easily do), and she takes risks. Loved her pic this week.
I think the Vampire shoot was a way to take the girls out of their comfort zone. Not being able to see forces you to rely on your other senses. I was disappointed that there wasn't a lot of touch/smell being used overall. A few of the girls did "inhale", something that viewers of any of the vampire stories over the past 15 years have taught us is "normal" (the heightened sense of smell). But they essentially were "feeling" their way around and only a few touched the male model or used the blood in the way one would expect a vampire to do. It's their life force; I can understand what the judges were hoping to elicit from the models.
I just spent way too much time dissecting this show.

Were you speaking very generally or were you responding to a whole lot of things I never said? I can't tell.
I never said that Anslee did not have right to be as upset as she was or that Alaysia was not criticizing Anslee's parenting. Nor was the implication of my last sentence to say that Anslee was the "child" and Alaysia was not. I said that Alaysia did not directly say "You're a bad mom." I also feel that Anslee is not the "vastly mature" individual she pretends to be--she's 23 and she acts like it. That's it.
