Congratulations to BC and each New Member, no matter the sorority!
I heard that there were 65+ girls who went through recruitment without making a match. Here's hoping that they find a wonderful Greek home soon.

Wow, that is really sad. Especially when there are only a few hundred going through recruitment, that percentage is high. I hope they find a greek home, too.
But onto happier things. Blazercheer, I wish you the best of luck with Chi Omega! You deserve your happiness! Congrats to all the new members at VSU!

If over 65 girls out of a couple hundred didn't get placed, there's definately a problem! That's enough for a whole 'nother house - total there isn't much more than that, is it? That's what most of the groups looked to be at.

I do not really know what the final numbers were for the different GLOs at VSU but if there are some 65 women who did NOT match it sounds like the system there is majorly screwed up! Just my 2cents....
Does anyone know what quota was?
Also, was the photographer who did those bid day pics hired by Phi Mu or what It seemed like at least half the pics were of Phi Mu!! (they were all gorgeous of coruse!)

Here's an article about last year's recruitment: http://www.valdosta.edu/spec/20020829/news3.shtml
In the article it gives chapter total as "about 70" and says that of the 174 women going through, 135 accepted bids. I know that this isn't very current, but it was the only information I could find!

I thought the same Cele-glad you posted the comment 1st.
Is the "bid matching" universal in all Panhel council? It seems like I read a couple different things on how bids are matched after 1st and 2nd choices were assigned so 98% or so of the women get bids. Would someone clarify please?
side note: Pinkyphimu I tried to pm you.

Okay, now that pnms on other threads are commenting on 65 bid-less women, could we PLEASE have some facts, or at least a link?

I talked to Ballerina until real late last night and she said that quota was 25 and that 180 girls started out in rush. Since there are 6 sororities, 25 x 6= 150...but I heard that all but one made quota. Therefore, that's a lot of girls who went bidless.
I'm told that Valdosta has a lot of PNMs who will only accept one sorority (it varies with the girl) and that has a lot to do with the dropout rate.
*still floating with happiness because all my college girls are Greek!*
