i just joined greekchat so i guess im pretty late in introducing myself...

my name is nicole
i'm from the delta zeta chapter at UBC

im a collegian, i COR-ed during the second semester of my first year at school (we dont have spring recruitment at UBC and i missed out on recruitment in the fall!)

i was actually considering not joining alpha gam and going through formal recruitment in my second year because i didnt want to "sell myself short" of not meeting the other sororities. but after the second time i met the girls i felt so comfortable with them i knew that i didnt need to meet the other sororities to make my decision

Favorite memory? What, I have to list just one?! Okay, a fav would have to be the living purpose...That or a roadtrip to S.C. with six sisters and one sister's boyfriend. (What was he thinking?!)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Have been lurking for what seems like forever and decided I should really start posting, so here goes the intro...

1. Julie
2. Alpha Beta - University of Michigan
3. Alum (pledged Winter '93)
4. I didn't really know a lot about sororities, but thought rushing would be a fun way to meet people. So I went to the winter rush meeting at the Union and fell in love with the AGD girls. There were only 4 sororities doing formal winter rush, but I only needed to see one

Lots of favorite memories, including winning variety at 94 greek week and rooming with 2 of my sisters (including my sis mom) at the Hall of Fame bowl (now the Outback bowl) that same year.

I live in Northern Michigan (ok, the U.P.) which makes it hard to stay active as an alum, but that goodness for the internet!!

Collegian. I currently have two offices: Ritual and activities coordinator.
I joined Alpha Gam because the first time i met the members I felt like I had known them my entire life. It was just... right.
My favourite memory so far was this year's formal dance. Just lovely

Actually, I'm in St. Ignace, which kind of sticks me in the middle of everything and not really close to anything

Was hoping to make it down to IRD at Fox Hills this year since my parents are in Canton, but we have a wedding on that day.

There is at least one sister from Zeta Alpha that I know of in St. Sault Marie. She just became a Recrutiment Consultant for Great Lakes 1 (UP and middle/upper Michigan).

I'm sorry you won't be at IRD. Maybe next year! (I don't know which alumnae club is hosting next year offhand, so I don't know where it will be). I get to do part of chapter roll this year...

4) I became an Alpha Gam because it felt right to me. During recruitment, our Rho Chis were telling us that we'd know when we were in the house that was right for us, we'd have a feeling about it. I was searching for this incredible house, looking for something that wasn't there for me at Pi Phi (is it okay that I just say that, not XYZ house or anything?) or A Phi or any of the other chapters on my campus. AGD had always been the right choice for me, and I didn't realize it until Preference Day.

4. I was just initiated yeterday, but chose to rush Alpha Gam this spring after having talked to my brother's girlfriend who is an Alpha Gam at her school over Christmas break. I just realized that she was the type of person I wanted to be and wanted to be around, so I checked out the chapter at my school and felt right at home. I didn't even have to look at any of the other sororities on campus, I knew it had to be AGD.

4) I joined Alpha Gam because the girls were so welcoming and seemed more like myself. The best decision I have made, hands down. I have told everyone just how amazing Greek Life is, and if there is an AGD chapter at their university, it's a must!!
