Cool

dzrose:

You and I have the same taste in music, girl! I will listen to any and everything by Buffett...he's a god

When I was little, my aunt used to sing Sweet Baby James to me and play it on her guitar. I had forgotten about this until hearing someone play the Greatest Hits CD my freshman year of college. Its an awesome CD.

Lately, I've gotten into Carole King and Jackson Browne.

They just don't make music like they used to

It's kinda a new song but I love "RIGHT KIND OF WRONG" by Leann Rimes from Coyote Ugly.
"Loving you isn't really something I should do Shouldn't wanna spend my time with you
I should try to be strong But baby, you're the right kind of wrong" I don't know about some of you but this totally describes some of the guys I've fallen for...something about that bad boy/player image that makes them sooo desireable...<sigh>...

Okay here's a few songs with significance to me:
*All my life* by K-ci and Jojo....that's mine and Art's song (my sweetie!). We danced to this for the first time at a bar in Ottawa while visiting my cousin!
*I will survive* by Gloria Gaynor.....every time a sister would break up with her man, we would play that song and sing it as loud as we can while dancing/hugging the sister!
*Girls just wanna have fun* by Cyndi Lauper...that's our sorority song!

I think's that's it....those are the most important to me! Although, I think I may have to add *Because you loved me* by Celine Dion....that's the song my dad and I will be dancing to at my wedding!

Unhappy

"Have you Ever" by Brandy---oh boy, this produces some sad memories! Whenever I am going thru a breakup (like right now), radio stations seem to play this all th time! or maybe I just notice it more . The lyrics speak so true.

Also there is this great, sad song (it's a slow, "soft" music, light rock sorta song) which goes:

"There's a danger of loving someone so much...When you know your heart won't be touched...There's a reason why people change so much..."

arghhh thatsong is so sad and good...I cried yesterday when it playd. Too bad I don't know who it's by!

Does anyone know of a song that talks about "showing/seeing your true colors...that's why I love you"????

It's really beautiful--it's a soft rock/slow/adult contemporary type. Thanks!!

The song is "True Colors" by Cyndi Lauper. It was used as a Kodak commercial in the late 80s

Talking

Falling in love songs

"Love is Stronger than Pride" Sade
"Cupid" by 112 (particularly significant)

Break-up recovery songs

"Vanishing" by Mariah Carey, and "My Dear" by Mint Condition. My roommate hated those songs. Everytime she came in to them, she knew my X and I had fought-again.
"I fall to Pieces" Patsy Cline

Instant Dance Songs

remix to "I Get Lonely" by Janet Jackson
"Tainted Love" by Soft Cell
And I am ashamed to admit it, but "Scrub the Ground" by the Splat Pack. It was a COLLEGE THING!
There are so many more.
