Agreed. They know they're limiting their options, so they get to accept the consequences of that decision.

They don't know they're limiting their options, but they will get to accept the consequences.

Wow. I mean it IS their perogative, but this is just weird to me. It also goes somewhat against the concept of mutual selection. I mean, how would this work with prefs and bid matching? They can't be ranked together as ONE person on sororities' bid lists, so one would theoretically have to end up above or below the other. What would happen if one of them received a bid to their #1 choice and the other to #2?

I think it is better for the GLOs to know that they want to pledge as a duo - no sense wasting an invitation to one if she won't accept without her sister receiving one.

I agree. As long as the twins were willing to accept the consequences, I don't see a problem with it.

My chapter had several twins. If anyone read my retro story, the girl who said "hi lady" was an identical twin. I would have asked her if she remembered but I didn't know which one she was. Our chapter president my senior year also had pledged with her twin but the twin ended up transferring. Finally, we had a whole group of 5 sisters in my chapter; one set of twins (not identical) and their 3 sisters. They were amazing girls. I just loved them.

I tried to stay away from the recruitment threads, I guess because I never went through it, and went to a much smaller school with 5 orgs and it was much less competitive (I didn't even know anything about rec's until i started posting here) so, maybe i should stay away anyway lol
I just read the whole thing and am so freaking curious! I agree that it seems fantastical, but i want an ending

twins

My girls pledged the same house. However...their # 2 choices were not the same and they would have had no problem going different ways if they had not received their # one choice.
They also cut houses independently of each other.
I personally wanted them to choose the same house, but I wanted them to make their own decisions ( of course) .
It all worked out in the end, thank goodness.

Unhappy

Unfortunately, no. They did both pref there however at different parties. I really tried to stay out of it, but I got my hopes up high when one girl called after the Zeta pref and told me how much she liked it and how beautiful it was, I thought she might go that way....I was just reading my Themis yesterday and thinking what if.....
They are both very happy with their choice and for that reason, so am I.

real twins rush

I do have the story of a real twins recruitment ( rush) my own daughters, but I will wait until they are out of college to post it...it is no where near as dramatic as the above referenced story.... but it is sweet.
It is at a major, southern, out of state school. They had only 2 recs and the outcome was really great!
